Item Description

James Bond's newest mission begins with a spectacular high-speed hovercraft chase through a minefield in the demilitarized zone separating North and South Korea - and the action doesn't let up until the credits roll. From Hong Kong to Cuba to London, Bond circles the world in his quest to unmask a traitor and prevent a war of catastrophic proportions. On his way he crosses paths with Jinx (Oscar®-winner Halle Berry) and Miranda Frost (Rosamund Pike), who will play vital roles in his latest adventure. Hot on the trail of deadly megalomaniac Gustav Graves (Toby Stephens) and his ruthless right-hand man Zao (Rick Yune), Bond travels to Iceland into the villain's lair: a palace built entirely of ice. There he experiences firsthand the power of a new hi-tech weapon. Ultimately it all leads to an explosive confrontation - and an unforgettable conclusion - back in Korea where it all started.

Review
Pierce Brosnan has always been my favourite Bond becuase I grew up on his Bond movies and while Die Another Day is definietly not "Goldeneye", it still has all the fun and excitment you'd except for a Bond film. This film has fantastic action, the opening chase is awesome and even though Brosnan was older, he still played an excellent Bond and brought good wit and charm to the role. The plot isn't as strong as previous films and the villian isn't as menacing as some classic Bond villians are. Casting wise, Brosnan is still great while Halle Berry is a suitable Bond girl. I have always loved the character of James Bond and that is why I don't like this new direction they are taking him with Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace because they are losing the fun and over the top that made Bond movies fun. (He is starting to turn into "James Bourne". It ain't perfect but Die Another Day is a fun, thrilling and most importantly enjoyable. The PQ is great, it isn't top tier demo material. The movie is pretty gritty especially in the beginning and grain is present although never distracting. Detail is great, colours are quite vibrant and overall, the image is quite sharp though-out. The PQ might not be demo but the audio certainly is. That opening chase along bests most action titles. There is a good amount of extras but I haven't had a chance to view them yet. Overall, while D.A.D isn't a Bond classic, it has the fun and charm that you come to love from Bond films. The PQ is good and the audio is amazing so I would say add this to your collection.
