Item Description
Nobuo Uematsu of Final Fantasy fame joined forces with the classical singer Canon in producing their New World in musical fantasy. Canon wrote lyrics for Uematsu's grand instrumentals such as Final Fantasy Main Theme, Prelude and Nakama wo Motomete, her mysterious voice adds a veil of velvet over the melodies.「ファイナルファンタジー」シリーズなど様々なゲーム音楽のクリエーターとして世界中のゲーム・ファンから支持をされている作曲家の植松伸夫氏と、独自のスタイルで歌うクラシック曲や外国民謡などが“ヒーリングを超えた聖なる歌声”と称されるカノンとのコラボレーションによるオリジナル・ニューアルバム。
収録曲は、植松氏を代表する「ファイナルファンタージー」から「Prelude」「ファイナルファンタジー メインテーマ」「Eyes On Me」「仲間を求めて」、話題となったNHKアニメ「グイン・サーガ」からのメドレー「Guin Saga Medley」、植松氏やカノンの新曲。植松氏の壮大で美しい音楽ワールドと、カノンの神秘的な美声や音楽の融合によって生まれた新たな音楽世界という意味から、アルバム・タイトルは「A New Story」と名付けられた。「ファイナルファンタジー メインテーマ」「Prelude」「仲間を求めて」には、カノンが書き下ろした歌詞が初めて付けられている。

gorgeous arrangement version of many Final Fantasy themes by KANON. I like it, but after some listening, I think that this album is quite bland compared to Frances Maya of Distant World. But again, this is a must for Final Fantasy die-hard fans :D

Wonderful
Well arranged known titles from the Final Fantasy Series, The Last Story and Guin Saga. Beautiful songs written by Kanon herself as well. "Wings to fly" is the highlight of this album fitting perfectly to Kanon's bright voice. Highly recommend!
