A great remake
As a fan of the series who started with the first PSX title (sadly missed most of the arcade releases due to a lack of arcades here), I'm really enjoying this 3DS release. It feels like a present to all the longtime fans of the series since it's in short a very nice and updated remake of Ace Combat 2 for the PSX. It's especially recommendable for everyone who was disappointed by the recent AC on the stationary consoles, since though it got updated with some of the new dog fight features which we've first seen in one of Project Aces other releases (Sky Crawler) and which make dog fighting a bit easier, it still got a very classic feel to it. Also it's simply nice to see all of the stages from AC2 remade this beautifully and to see the game wrapped into such a nice presentation in the style of the PS2 ACs (which in my humble opinion are still the best of the series).
For everyone who's looking for a 1:1 control scheme of the PS2 titles on the 3DS, the japanese version+circle pad pro is especially recommended, since the additional shoulder buttons provide you with the rudder adjusting. Something the us version seems to lack.
