features
- The Aliens universe provides a setting full of horror, suspense and action. Using authentic environments inspired by the film series including the Sulaco and LV-426, the player will be immersed in an eerie, atmospheric world where any moment could bring their death
- Wield authentic weapons from the films, including the pulse rifle, smart gun, flamethrower and more. Use cover and blindfire to outshoot Xenos or sneak through the Sulaco in stealth missions but watch out for Xenos lurking in the dark
- Recruit up to twenty individual Colonial Marines with distinct personalities, each designed by famed comic artist Chris Bachalo. Race to rescue captured comrades in five realtime minutes before they are implanted with Xenos
- Storyline and dialogue will change depending on who you have chosen for your team. Who will be able to stand up to the Xeno horde and who will be dragged away to the hive?
- Aliens: Infestation features 2D side-scrolling gameplay in the style of Metroid or Castlevania with an arcade, retro feel. This couples with a deep combat system and extensive narrative to make this the ultimate in fan-service

Don't take it lightly, this is hardcore game
This game, although presented in 2d, it successfully retain the horror atmosphere. Also this bring back memory of Contra series. Good job SEGA team

Awesome and old school.
As an older gamer who grew up watching the Alien movies I was looking forward to this game. I still love 2D shooters and have enjoyed Wayforward games before (such as Contra DS) so I'm happy to report that this game was a lot of fun.
The game has the atmosphere of the series with all the sound effects in order and a feeling of claustrophobia. The blasting action is satisfying, though the controls take a little time before you are accustomed. For example, using the touchscreen to reload is fiddly.
The game has a fixed cast of marines all with their own personalities, comments and replies. Additional play-through attempts are required to see them all. The player starts with 4 marines. Losing a marine sees them actually dead, so functionally they are a lives system. Additional marines (extra lives) can be found throughout the game, though a new marine will only join if there is currently less the 4 marines in your squad. In many cases you will able to return later to recruit if necessary.
The game plays out similar to a Metroid game of old. Locations are shut off until the correct piece of equipment is found allowing progression. This comparison to a 'metroidvania' may sound like a substantial game, but it is actually quite short; I finished it in little over 5 hours. Still I recommend it for anybody into the style of game described and say it is a must have for Aliens fans. There is little else like it on the DS, the game is quite challenging and I know I will play it again (particularly on long flights!).

Bit short, good for what's there
I'm unfamiliar with the Aliens films, but the material seems a good fit for a Metroid style adventure. Great tension throughout.

A Must Buy For Any Aliens Fans.
As amazing as the flms are, it's sad that there aren't so many great games based on the franchise. Finally, here is one of those great games. If you love Ridley Scott and James Cameron's masterpieces, then this game is for you. It captures the atmosphere of the movies and gives you everything you'd want and expect in a Aliens game. The life system, where once a marine dies they're gone for good, is unique and makes you really play like you're fighting for your life. The only problem I found was that aliens usually come at you one at a time, I would have liked to see swarms of them attacking some of the time. Just to mix it up. But otherwise this is a no-brainer if you ever watched Aliens and wanted to be a Colonial Marine.
