Wasted Potential or rushed product?
I'll start by saying that if you're looking for Resident Evil on 3DS, go for Revelations. That one is a great game and a full experience and wasn't rushed for 3DS launch window. With that in mind,I'll say that Mercenaries 3D is really fun,but does not have much to give,specially if you don't like an action-oriented arcade style game.All you do is play (hard) missions with one of the characters,receive a grade for your performance, receive exp to upgrade unlockable skills and then try to improve your score.
For the gameplay, this one does stay closer to RE4 and RE5 than the aforementioned one,so if you do want more Resident Evil action for 3DS...then I'd recommend it if you are a fan.
There is online and local multiplayer,the controls are fine (being clunky is part of it :D) ,graphics are good(with minor framerate problems with distant enemies), there is an option to aim in third or first person view, sounds work and there is a tiny early RE:Revelations Demo.

Great game!
This is an awesome game! It plays just like Resident Evil 5 , except that now it's in 3D! As a big fan of 5, I love the play style and combat system. If you enjoyed 5 also, I would recommend picking this game up and blasting some zombies!

heart pounding fun!!
didnt want to buy this game initially but a friend wanted to co-op so i reluctantly bought it. boy am i glad i did coz i am having SUCH A BLAST with it!!! so much fun killing and trying to better my scores.

The impressive graphics and the most enjoying Bio Hazard's game modes is ideal for time smashing. And the included demo of upcoming Bio Hazard Revelations is fantastic! Wi-fi coop (local and internet) is very fun!

Impact 3D game
Resident Evil has been a long successful franchise from
CAPCOM. Some of theme were disasterous but this one is not. With 3D effect, you can enjoy your 3DS 100%.
Fullfilling my expectations for sure.
Controlling system could have been easier, however,
it's not critical factor as a whole game experience.

RE Mercenaries we know & love. Upgraded, improved, polished.
If you love the RE Mercenaries mini games, you'll definitely going to love this game. Even though it's just a short, mission based game, the controls are tight, the graphics are good and the system is just right. Recommended for all action / Bio Hazard (RE) fans

Truly shines with co-op
It's a great game for any shooting game fan. It's fast-paced, action packed, adrenaline-pumping coupled with very nice graphics, both 2D and 3D.
And you don't have to be worried about dying because it's all stage-by-stage basis, so you can just repeat the stage, really.
But I think it is the co-op function that makes the game truly shines. It is really fun to team up with a partner to finish the stage - because it will really help boost up your points quickly... and there is someone to guard your back, literally.
Minus one star for some awkward controls (shooting is with Y button - I would have thought the A button would make more sense), inability to reset game data and some difficulty connecting to the Wi-Fi co-op.
