DJ Max Portable Hot Tunes [Limited Edition] Review
This game is the DJM FEVER, only with minor tweak. DJM FEVER is for US market, and this baby is for Japanese market. No whatsoever remastered music if you ask. All MVs and songs are the same with P1(DJMPortable 1) and P2(DJMPortable ... [もっと読む。。。]
Hot Tunes contains all the fan-favorites from DJ MAX 1 and 2, the K-POP and J-POP songs that you adore could be found in this collection. However, this is not just a "best select" game, the music are remastered with cutting edge technology, so it'll be even more powerful.
Don't worry if you've never played this type of games before, you can train your reflexes from the 4 button beginner's mode and move up the difficulty level as you progress. The key is not the technique, the key is the fun.
if you loved dj max you gonna don't miss this :)
Great familiar songs... buggy as to play.
Great purchase for a collector's item though, especially with the little extras you get!
Limited edition comes with lots of collectable stuffs with it, I'd say it's a really good deal given its price! Would recommend this one to even casual DJMax Merchandise collectors out there :)
I got this during the sale and even though the shipping was pricey, the contents more than made up for it. It's one the best limited editions I've ever bought for any game on the PSP. At 2.5kg, it's obvious why it costs so much for shipping. But if you're gonna buy this, would anyone even consider free shipping if it was even available? Do you want your precious item to be damaged? Obviously not. All DJ Max fans should get this. And you won't live to regret it.
This limited edition is a great value for money at such a price most retails are selling it for over $100.The limited edition comes in a high qulity wooden box and 3 golden ost discs. The game however is actually DJ max fever so if you already have thatit's not so worth. Becuase of the wooden box the limited edition is quite heavy and shipping can be rather expensive depending on location.A real value for money at such a price.
If you bought this during the sale (where shipping was high), pat yourself on the head. I don't see why people would complain (calling it rip-offs, etc) when you still get this for a lower price combined AND delivered to your doorstep. This LE set is by far probably the biggest and heaviest release and is very high in quality. Most would agree the main highlight in this LE would be the piano collection and the dark wood finish. Note, DJMAX LE sets will always go up in price, don't be surprised to see this floating around a couple of hundred dollars in a year.
As always, The game is great, and the portability means I can play anytime I have 5 minutes. I also love the extras included in the limited packaging. A great buy overall
Really happy with this purchase. The songs are really fun to play and the Collectors Limited Edition is super nice. I couldn't believe how nice the box was. The addition of the soundtrack was sweet as well. Instructions are in Korean but the game menus are in english.
Wish the gameplay had an easier setting for all the songs though. Some of the 4 button songs can get pretty complicated. Challenging though, still great game. Hasn't left my PSP in several weeks.
I luckily got this limited edition on sales, and the box was pretty awesome. With all the OST and piano collection, this made the edition even better. The posters are not all the same with promote picture on Play-Asia, though I'm satisfied with it.
The DJ Max Portable Hot Tunes [Limited Edition]! Great tunes and great goodies. The wooden box is in high quality even! Music are great! I highly recommended to fans of DJ Max!
ufffffff, excellent price, the game is the best and the limited edition is the most complete and seen, I love the presentation of the game, recommended 100%
my friend got me this for my birthday! the box is very high quality! very nice for Collectors such as myself, the game is good as well, similar to the american release!
DJ Max is a great series. This is a good game if you don't have either Portable 1 or Portable 2. It's very similar to the American release Fever though.
For DJ max players, recommended.
Most of the music are good and fun to play.
If this is your first DJ max game then this is a very good choice as it has a very good music game with great tracks and play modes. But if you have played the PSP series of DJ Max, unfortunately you will not find anything new with Hot Tunes. This is more of a re-release of DJ Max 1.
It was a very happy game.
If you like music games, then this game should not be missing in your collection.
It's a mixture of the first and second DJMAX games, merged into 1 awesome package!
I've been playing DJ max for about 3 years now, and the idea of getting a completed limited edition with proper soundtracks have been always slipping through my hands.
I missed limited editions of other version , so this is a must-have and I can say, you won't regret buying this.
The wood case is superb and the design is awesome. It even looks good just placing it open on my table.
A definite must have for an DJ-max Fans
The wooden box is made of quality wood and is heavy and chunky. As with all Pentavision limited edition it is high quality with extra features well worth the extra money. Although the game is a rehash of an earlier DJ Max title, it does fill a music sim void until DJ Max Portable 3 arrives.
The game is awesome if you love music . Although you finished up the game very quickly but you can play it all over again with different levels .
you get your money worth. though the only thing i hate is the wooden box metal part can break very easy. just by touching it. but the game is really great still. even if it looks abit like dj max 2. if you pay attention if has some different stuff then it.
oh my god i miss this game so much i just got this in mail today! the wooden is kewl and the game is kewl great game most recommend to get! worth the cash to get!
my first impression when i got this package is WOW.This wood box looks so nice. With all of those nice stuff in the box i would say this definitely worth the money if you are a djmax fan.
The box came in perfect condition. Everything checked out okay. Game play; amazing like always. Notice that there is not OST mode (unless you have to unlock it, or i'm just blind). One down side is that the metal binding for the wooden box isn't all that great. Bend too much and it'll fall out of the socket. Overall, you get a lot for what you pay for.
I don't really care about the wooden box but I'm happy with the game! All of my favourite songs are in the game from Portable 1 and 2 (Yay Oblivion Rocking Night Style!)
However, if you have bought the DJ Max Portable 2 Limited Edition Set, be prepared for OST repeats. Wish there was a nice big poster in it too.
You got Clazziquai for your beginners, and Black Square for the pros, and an amazing soundtrack behind awesome addictive gameplay all 'round. Great!
My best game!!I play, and there is not the loss. Please play by all means!
First off, while hot tunes may be a remixes fever, there is no auto correct which makes it a much better version already. Second, as someone who generally opts for the collectors edition of any game he buys, I have to say this limited edition is easily the best LE ever! No contest!, the case is sturdy and fantastic and even the presentation of the box when opened is amazing! All other publishers of LE games: the bar has been raised!
Pentavision has outdone themselves once again with a DJ Max limited edition. The wooden case is extremely well made with an embossed cover and little magnets to keep it closed. It's almost too pretty just to stick on a shelf. You want to keep it out as a conversation piece.
As other reviews have mentioned, if you've played Fever, you've played Hot Tunes. Skip the regular edition if you already own Fever, but the Limited Edition is just too sweet to pass up either way.
If you are DJMax fan you should have this.
Very cool and luxury package.
The case is very beautiful and the OSTs are very good (if you have the OST of Black Square or Clazziquai, avoid this product... the songs are the same). The package is wonderful and is good to expose the case opened.
The game isn't special.... is like a Fever 2. I think pentavision make in a hurry due the glitch on Sunny Side 6B in english (the screen freezes). If you want new musics and new features wait for Portable 3. If you are a newbie on DJ Max world, go for this game because 6B have easy musics and is good to train.
Hot Tunes is compilation of tracks from DJ Max Portable 1 and 2. If you've never played this games before you and like DJ Max series or another music action-rhythm games you should definitely buy Hot Tunes. Limited Edition is good, packaging is not disappoint and wooden case looks epic! Great item for every collector and DJ Max fan!
if you never played dmp or dmp2,this is your best choise.
I have been a long running fan of the Duma. Portable writes and have bought every single one since the first and always the LE addition and I have always been blown away by how amazing they are. DJ Max Hot Tunes is no exception to this.
The extras in the LE version for hotunes is great has a perfect collection of all of the best songs of the series. The wood case it comes in is amazing especially for the price along with a number of beautiful mini posters as well as 2 full size ost posters are great.
As for the game it's self, it is great it is a collection of all the songs from DJMax 1 & 2. Which is especially great if you haven't played either of those titles. However one thing i found disapointing was the lack of polish on this version and that it did not have a club mode like black square or clasiquai. From what I understand this is actually the port of the DJMax fever which is probly the reason for the lack of polish and lack of features from the DJMax games as fever was released before classiquai.
So if u enjoyed the first 2 games and would like to be able to play songs from both on 1 umd or missed the first 2 games this is perfect for u if u are a collecter the LE version is well worth the money. Also if u missed the collecters editions for 1 & 2 then definitly grab this one if for the nothing but the OST's
I have to say that the wooden box is not stable for open and close too much, due to I didn't got the DMP1&2 collect edition, this suit seems more suitable for me.
The game is great and all, many fav from dj max 2 and 1, but there are some problems, bugs and glitches, well bugs anyways, as far as I know, 1 song in 6b has a bug which can be fixed by chaning the language into jap or korean I believe and here is a mission that just plainly freezes, otherwise it's a great game, too bad it doesnt have my other favs like stalk, but hey, it has ladymade stars, although there isnt 5B and 4 lite is just fail, but whatever, still fun
An irrepressible treat, Some of the best trcaks take from both one tow withougt copy all the sames songs from Fever. It feels and plays like a seqeul and shoold keep veterans and beginner's with some more to master before DJMPw, with the solid play mechanics of DJMP2. now I'm fulllu looking forwards to DJMP4 in the fall,. :-)
best limited edition packaging so far. very nice content inside. the ost isnt very impressive but the piano disc is nice. be careful when u do open it as it is not supose to open very far out. there needs to be some sort of a ribbon stopper since the hinges are very flimsy and can break the wooden slot off.
Although the game itself is not much different than FEVER, the Limited Edition contents and the wooden box itself was worth it well enough. This is one of the best and sexiest Limited Edition I have ever owned! Pentavision is great with creating great LEs!
Firstly i would like to say that wooden case is very nice. The ost is a good compilation along with soothing piano tunes too. The poster are always nicely illustrated.
As for the game itself, to most DJMAX fans out there might this disappointing. This is pretty DJMAX Fever but well BETTER!. No Auto-correct is in this version at all which is good. Finally if you are a true DJMAX fan well this is a chance you SHOULD NOT pass up.
Ok seriously this is one hell of a let down imo. overall game is, well typical djmax games. not really having that wow factor. i bought it due to the OST and packaging and.. limited edition (i'm a sucker for it).
The OST is very DISAPPOINTING. well i do know that it's like all re-using the songs. But well at least have remixes in like maybe disc 2.
It's like totally a re-release of the OST of djmp1 and 2 , just being filtered. Only thing that was impressive was the piano OST. i was hoping for like a AT LEAST 10 songs in piano. But it's being horrible by having 4. Making it very ...
Well u can probably buy the game if you like DJMAX and weak against LE products, if not stay away.
Well... Once i get my Limited Edition, I found that, this is really a collection must have it for fans like me...
But, for new coming player, If you hope to play DJ Max Portable 1 or 2, I am suggested to buy This Hot Tunes...
It is totally same with them, but, with song selected...
Anyway, You can try This Hot Tunes 1st before you go buy the Portable 1 or 2, But, as long you are music playing fans, you sure will Happy to have this game...
and you will sure will get Portable 1 or 2 as well...
So, once the new coming players are Happy with the game, please do not lost the chance to get the limited edition yo~~~ it's only 2000 pieces in the world yo~~~
I got my package just now so yeah I'm really excited.
Basically, DJMax Hot Tunes, for me, is a better version of DJMax Fever. (no auto correct feature and green tone for extra pts.) There are also some songs not present in Fever that is in Hot Tunes. (Oblivion Rockin Night Style~ m/)
If you're a Hardcore DJMax Fan, I really suggest you get this limited edition package. (Hey, 2000 pcs. only m/) And this package maybe just the sweetest and most awesome package I've seen so far. Wooden Casing and etc. It's awesomeness in a whole new level. So if you're one of us, I tell you...
...It's worth it!
First, if you are the DJMP fans and wish that Hot Tunes is the new bang, you are wrong!
This game is the DJM FEVER, only with minor tweak. DJM FEVER is for US market, and this baby is for Japanese market. No whatsoever remastered music if you ask. All MVs and songs are the same with P1(DJMPortable 1) and P2(DJMPortable 2), but one thing is for sure, this baby has excellent time loading compare with P1 and P2
So, is this worth dying for? If you are DJMP Fans and yet miss the DJM FEVER, you should consider to buy one, but if you owned FEVER, I suggest to buy Limited Edition, coz this baby packed with many valuable items as mention above and for me it is worth every penny
Otherwise just wait till P3
