The island of Banoi is a lush, tropical paradise in the South Pacific where its flagship Royal Palms Resort serves as the ultimate getaway for vacationers with money to burn. However, all good things must soon come to an end - and the picturesque resort falls into madness, carnage and chaos after a mysterious and contagious zombie outbreak claims its once peaceful atmosphere. Cut off from the rest of the world, only four individuals who strangely find themselves immune to zombification have the power to protect the remaining survivors from the horrors of the island, to discover what's really going on and find a way to escape before their own fatal ends.

Underrated
I had the original and sold it after completion. Craved it and waited for the GOTY and i cant recommend it enough.
Arena is a nice addition and lots of people still on so can find coop partners easily.

This has good graphics,good history,and 4 characters to choose from,the all island are great but on some places have a minor graphic bug,sometimes when you have to get in a dark room you'll be surprised cause if you dont becarefull the zombie will caught you and will make you scream in your room :) I really like this if you have to choose between Left4Dead and DeadIsland you really shoud choose DeadIsland :)

this game is far from perfect, and is NOT a FPS game, it is a First Person Melee game. The game has some amazing scope, but can be finished in 15 to 25. Some parts are really hard and you NEED to play co-op. Sometimes co-op was fun, but many times other players ran through the game and skipped side missions, and you need to stick together you have to keep pace if you want to play. I had more fun playing by myself actually. Taking my time, exploring every nook and cranny, but some parts, it is simply near impossible to get through by your self. Hordes of zombies rush and keep spawning. Even playing this just 2 player with my best friend, we learned the hard way, some areas are really frustrating, like game breaking frustrating without 4 players helping out. So overall this game was REALLY amazing and fun and I think the start of something great, but it was WIDELY inconsistent.

The violence in this game alone deserves the purchase. It is longer then you would expect for a zombie game and the huge variety of weapons and mods make replayability more exicting. Co Op is great, but can sometimes be a bit frustrating if somebody unwanted joins your game. The aussie accents are pretty poor quality but apart from that the cinematic quality of the game and the non stop action makes for one great gaming experience.

Perfect blend of Fallout 3 and Dead rising, wich were my 2 favourite games. You can guess from soem detail that it is not such a big budget game. I got it after the patch and I didn't experience any bug yet

A game for zombie fans
Ok so this is a great game. There is no doubt about it. Tha game is a little like Fallout in that it has quests but it is more linear. Killing zombies never gets old and selecting Analog Fighting makes it even more fun. The PC version does not support this for mouse/keyboard so that was why I gave it 4 stars, plus the fact that it was difficult to activate it through Steam. Yes, that's right, you MUST activate through Steam. From Japan I could not do this initially until I activated the game through a vpn in the US. This game allows any fans of the Walking Dead TV show to increase their zombie exposure and have fun and thrills doing so.

The PC version does not support this for mouse/keyboard so that was why I gave it 4 stars, plus the fact that it was difficult to activate it through Steam. Yes, that's right, you MUST activate through Steam. From Japan I could not do this initially until I activated the game through a vpn in the US. This game allows any fans of the Walking Dead TV show to increase their zombie exposure and have fun and thrills doing so.

Dead Island is GREAT
When I bought this game soon I thought in other game left 4 dead...( four co-op players, FPS ) but dead island is different....proposal of it is more survival of what killing zombies with elements of RPG....Great history and graphs make of this game one of the best games of zombie that I played until today !! When it starts does not stop more....

Great Zombie Killer
Most zombie games are quite repetitive these days but this one hits the spot. graphics could do a bit of tweaking but the gameplay is great nonetheless.
Plenty of stuff to do than just kill zombies, side missions are great and a good way to kill time.

Dead Rising meets Fallout
If you like first person sandbox games with elements of RPG and zombie games, there's a pretty good chance you will like Dead Island. The online coop is pretty entertaining to.

Great Open World Zombie Game
Unlike some of the games the developer was responsible for, Dead Island mixes a lot of the "good" things from other zombie games and does a lot right to make it refreshing and engaging.
Although the game is not perfect, if you are into zombie games that has open world design which encourages cooperative play and play the way you want to feel, you'll feel right at home.

If you like any 1 of the 2 games above, or even both are you cup of tea, you should buy this title with no doubt.
It can be somewhat boring if you play alone, but I am sure you would enjoy it if you have friends to play with. Please add me in xbox live to play together if you want :)

I hae been very satisfied with the game as well as the company itself!

Quite an unbalance game...
The zombies in the beginning are manageable, but while the the character levels up and the story progresses, the zombies are getting way more and more powerful for the character to handle. There's no stats increment or armors that can increase character's defense against them and the zombies keep on getting powerful bit by bit. Around the middle of the story, each hit by the normal zombies can decrease character's life bar by 2-3...imagine those wild-type zombies chasing your character and hitting multiple times...not to mention the thug zombies if not skilled enough, you will be getting 4-6 life bars each hit and finishing your med kits before you know it... Over the time will get bored because you keep on dying frequently, but luckily it will respawn near the area and able to continue from there. Bad thing is that you will definitely lose money faster than what you can earn...
