Everything I expected and more!
Disgaea 4 is fun, addictive and one of the best strategy games I've played. It really improves a lot from previous Disgaea titles while keeping the previous formula. Every Disgaea fan or gamers who are looking forward to play a different and nice game should give it a try.

Where common sense does not exist
This game is probably the most random and weird SRPG I have ever played.
Everything is weird, from attacks, to monsters to abilities, everything is really wacky, and as such, funny. This is not a game to go in looking for a serious journey.
The strategy elements are really well done. The system is really deep and has a lot of different ways to tackle on a battle.
The camera sometimes gets blocked by objects, but its not really a big deal since you can rotate it.
My main gripe with this game is that it could go just fine with a little less grinding.

Varied fun gameplay
There are so many strategies which you can adopt to play this game. And the game itself is humorous as well! Cheesy dialogues, cheesy action sequences, entertaining characters, solid gameplay, this game has it all and is a really enjoyable game all in all. You'll spend lots of hours playing this one.

Only spent a few hours playing this so far, but can already tell it is exactly the same as the previous installment in the series. And in my book, that's a good thing!

Never ending fun!
This is definately fine game for endless play.

It really made us fall in love with strategy RPGs all over again. There’s a lot to love here, but gamers with hatred for Laharl and company won’t find anything to change their minds. At the very least, those who appreciate the series for all that it is will find this entry more than satisfying, as it does everything better than before. And with all the content they've included in this game, this love affair could go on for quite a while.

The Best Disgaea so Far!
Finally improved graphics, better version of the game so far, reasons: It can be through DLC you almost have all the characters of all Disgaea until today. Very good would recommend to everyone.

All the new systems like big fusion, big weapons, dual
magichange and HD sprites are very nice addition to the disgaea series. Even though the story is a bit mediocre in
this one but I am sure people don't play this game for story. Even though I find story important, it was still enjoyable. You might find new characters interesting or annoying because they tend to say things again and again.
For the gameplay, it hasnt changed much. Except your units can gain additional abilities through this chessboard system you get to use. Which is interesting. Also dont expect the epilogues to be intersting either. It isn't but must get.

hard learning curve but flourish once you get the hang of it

Easy to get hooked
For me the disgaea series has always been in the mid mark. They were okay, but they never really left the passing mark and crossed greatness. However, I do believe this time they managed to do just that even if it's just a single step over that line, because Disgaea 4 really does transcend over its predecessors. There are so much more stuff to do other than just the story line, this of course is something Disgaea is known for. But other than that, improvements in the fighting gameplay are astounding. Dual, super wielding a Final boss in one arm and the No 1 Delinquent in the other just feels so satisfying!
What really attracted me were the awesome characters. The characters were beautifully rendered and have funny, adorable character traits. They're very unique compared to the cliche doormats of the other just released games. The main character now isn't just a demon, but a sardines loving vampire. Not only does he really look badass but he really does act badass unlike that brat from 3.
If you're a disgaea fan then you're missing out if you haven't bought this yet. Cameos are scattered across the game as characters from the previous games are also in the game, not to mention the cameos from other games outside the series. If you haven't played Disgaea it's never too late to try.

This is so much fun, it's criminal
I've got a ton of new games on my plate, from Dead Island to Deus Ex, The Witcher and all the new super-high-graphics game titles, etc... but I've been ignoring them all just to play this. Disgaea 4 is pure gaming fun, and has enough depth and appeal to keep anyone interested. On top of that, it's funny, cute and has great music... it's a heck of a way to protect your PS3 from the dire fate of gathering dust while you go play PC games. :)
I've got a ton of new games on my plate, from Dead Island to Deus Ex, The Witcher and all the new super-high-graphics game titles, etc... but I've been ignoring them all just to play this. Disgaea 4 is pure gaming fun, and has enough depth and appeal to keep anyone interested. On top of that, it's funny, cute and has great music... it's a heck of a way to protect your PS3 from the dire fate of gathering dust while you go play PC games. :)

All that I can say is this is a great game. I would recommend it to anyone who likes games, still cannot wait for the english version though.

Makai Senki Disgaea 4 is another awesome addition to the Disgaea series and it is cool that NIS has chosen to switch to High Resolution Spirits for this installment if you love Disgaea you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely absurd. Recommended for every Disgaea fans
Gameplay wise, it's the same old Disgaea you know. Geo blocks, item world, crazy combos, level farming, equip farming, etc. But the game now comes with incredibly smooth & lovely HD graphics. The characters are even more colorful and the story is even more absurd.
Glad I can get the japanese limited edition with the nendoroid. Thanks a lot Play Asia!
