A great RPG that offers a brand new main character, a new story and more action oriented gameplay. Compare to its predecessor many of the game mechanic have been improved like main character voice in conversation, easy to navigate user interface and combat animation that look more awesome then before. As to Bioware traditions the game voice actor, sound and music is totally outstanding. A good RPG that will satisfy RPG loving fan.

A very good game
The choices or decisions that you make really manifests itself in interesting ways. The voice acting really brings the game to life. Combat if really fun, fast paced & colorful.
But the main story somehow lacks focus when compared to the original game & the long loading times can sometimes get on your nerves.

Good Sequel
its has better graphics than first one, nice OST, voice acting but game play is dull & you can only choose one race this time "human". its good game if you are fan of DAO but as my personal opinion its still not as much fun as the first one.

A great game. The reviews I have read regarding the game that it is a step backward from origins is misleading. This is an enjoyable game and the combat mechanics is much smoother than origins. If you like origins, you'll definitely love the sequel.

I actually liked Dragon age II more than the Origins game. I found the last game too linear and too slow, too strategy-like. The new game restricts you to playing as one of three character types and either sex but this is a small price to pay for being able to hear a voice attached to you character. This made the game far more engaging and for me, more enjoyable.

Dragon Age II have more action/fast-paced battle system compare to DA:O, and improved graphics. But the locations are less variation than the first game. Still, one of the best RPG ever created.

Good game, but not as good as its predecessor.
Unfortunately, this game suffers from the same recipe as Final Fantasy XIII (though not as bad). Endless cutscenes, linear gameplay, and oversimplified gameplay mechanics. It's closer to a hack n slash like God of War (which was also better, btw), than it is a true RPG. Overall... slightly disappointed with this.

Cut and paste rpg
While this is a great game, true rpg fans will feel alittle shortchanged as it feels like cut scenes and fights added together with little exploration along the way, personally I enjoyed Two Worlds 2 more for it's depth, even though it reminded me of a B grade film, either way both great games

i think that the game is not as great as the first dragonage. the gameplay has been cleaned up very much but the customisation of characters has been removed. you only get to play a human and the stories for the characters are generally the same. lack of replayability and customisation i feel is what makes this game 3* rather than a 5* game like its predesessor.

Refreshing
The gameplay is simpler and faster paced comparing to Origins - and that's a good change in my opinion.
The story isn't amazing, but the dialogs are great.
If you plan to keep up with the DA series, pick it up, cause it seems there's some kind of build-up toward the next game.

Great Game
Great game. The story doesn't feel as strong as the first game but Dragon Age 2 is a faster paced action-rpg. Less of the nascence of inventory management. Nearly everything is more streamlined. I highly recommend it.

Although it is not as good as the first game, this game is still pretty much enjoyable in many ways. Simplified gameplay will welcome new gamers to join in this epic adventure. Not a must buy but a recommended buy for fans of hack-n-slash RPG genre

Incredible!
Absolutely amazing game! The first one was awesome, and this one tops even that. If you like RPG's and D&D style games than this is the best. The feel of the UI and the gameplay mechanics are all tops. It's also a very addicting game and it's hard to stop playing. :D

I just loved the game and it's story. The sequel is almost even better than origins and all fans of rpg must play this. It's a must.

While very different from its prequel, and with a few rough edges, Dragon Age II is a thoroughly satisfying game which combines great action and an interesting scenario. The game follows a very odd approach to storytelling, abandoning the good old tale of "hero vs. greatest evil" in benefit of a more character driven and side quest oriented plot line.
If what you are looking for is a classic approach to RPG, with an epic albeit generic storyline, you'd better choose another title.
If, however, you are willing to try out something new, you'll probably going to like this game.
I'd give a 4,5 due to some technical issues, but this scale only allows me whole numbers, so I'll round it up to 5.

Some really powerful npc's and much smoother to play. You don't need the guide book to plan leveling up or completing quests. Anyone can play even if they've never heard of D&D.

A lot more of gore, a lot more of button mashing.
The new button-mash attack system is a great attractive for those, like me, who never liked that of Dragon Age: Origins, and is probably one of the most enjoyable things in the game. And there's also a LOT more of blood.
Truly a great game, I highly recommend it.

A good RPG,a so-so sequel
A lot of aspect from DAO has been improved,combat is much better to look at and the game itself feels much more fluid.
But as a sequel to probably one of the best RPG of all time...it somewhat disappoints.
Story is good but not great and that's all I can say without spoiling anything.
Also a LOT of areas in the game are reused for quests which makes it feel more repetitive.
Combat IS smoother but the new wave system just doesn't fit in that well for me,and the increased amount of enemies makes the game feel somewhat more combat focused and makes the game feel pretty linear (get quest -> defeat waves of enemies -> go to target ->defeat more enemies -> goal reached -> repeat) though that doesn't apply to every quest,the majority of it mostly uses that formula.
I'm not 100% happy with the game,but it's still worth the buy if you're looking to finish the Dragon Age saga,love in-game continuity,and respect the open-mindedness that BioWare put into this game;which is a pretty essential thing to have for a 'true' RPG.

This game is definitely good, but it's not living up to what I felt from the first game. In the first game, I was totally immersed and didn't want to put my controller down. In this one, I am having fun and enjoying the story, but I'm just not immersed. I still recommend it, though.

After 5-hour gameplay, I has just found out that many systems has been changed e.g. fighting system that "much like" an action game, the outfits of companions which cannot be changed etc. Indeed anyone who is not an RPG-lover will find this amazing and easily get familiar. I doubt that some RPG-lovers may have felt, well, uneasy. But for me there're lots of fun. I love this game.
I recommend this if you are seeking something new and you don't mind too much about the recent RPG system

Dragon Age 2 may seem little too simplified for the people who enjoyed 1, but the RPG series has changed to give you almost a reboot feel to find it's own identity as a console RPG.
Even if you have not played the first one, this is a good game to start with as it feels almost like a reboot rather than having a lot of references to the first game.
