The story is set in Los Santos in the (fictional) state of San Andreas and all surrounding areas included. It is based on the modern Los Angeles, California as we know it today. All characters have their own background story and life. Trevor, Michaels former partner in crime who lives in the outskirts in a caravan victim to his drug addiction and Franklin who makes his living as a repo-man for a cold-blooded car dealership.
