I may be unique
This otome game is a fictional adaptation of Chinese epic novel, "The Records of the Three Kingdoms."
I bought this game because it was getting good reviews online, and so I thought it was worth a try.
So you may be surprised to see my low review, and may find my comments to be harsh, but I'm going to be honest: I am surprised this game got half the reviews that it did.

I will start off with the pros of this game:
1.) The game system is first-class (and I do mean premier). The CGs/illustrations are beautiful and the music is great.
Not to sound dramatic, but I am tempted to purchase the CD with the BGM from this game (if there is one, I"m not sure). The music was that nice.
You can tell the developers gave a lot of time and attention to system development.
2.) The voice cast is beyond amazing. Not only are the voice actors for the main characters phenomenal, but the subcharacters' voice cast is also mind-blowing.
And when I say the cast was amazing, I'm not just saying they used big names (which, to be fair, they did) but I truly felt that the actors added depth to their characters and thus added real value to the game. Stellar performances from the entire cast.

Now for the cons:
1.) The script was...mediocre at best. I don't mind that the developers took liberty with "The Record of the Three Kingdoms."
In fact, that was what attracted me to this game. You don't need prior knowledge of the original epic or anything. However, what did upset me was the fact that they were unable to maintain the unique settings that they created.
On sevral occasions did I sit there and ask my PSP the question: did the script writers commnunicate with eachother when writing these stories...at all???
2.) Another thing, silly typing errors were abundant. For example, depending on which character route you take, your enemy in the Battle of Xúzhōu (Joshu, Japanese pronounciation) changes (Ch 6).
However, I found that in Zhao Yun's route (Cho-un, Japanese pronounciation), they mis-printed the enemy you were supposedly fighting in conversations because they just re-used converations from other routes (eg. argument between Gōngsūn Zàn (Kouson San) and Gōngsūn Yue (Kouson Etsu) about the reason why they can't send troops to help Tao Qian (Touken) defend his territory).
I don't mind you reusing conversations, but not when they DON'T APPLY TO THE STORYLINE YOU ARE TRYING TO PROGRESS. I'm sorry, but errors like that bother me...A LOT.
It's confusing because for a second there it makes me think we are fighting someone we were not, and that leads to insufficient explinations on the issues at hand, well, clearly there are different moving elements in this storyline than from the text at hand.
Not to be picky, but it really does break up the storyline, leaving me completely undazzled.
3.) Some of the decisions the main character has to make to progress the storyline were completely unbelievable.
For example, in Zhang Liao's route (Cho-ryou, Japanese pronounciation)...I hate to say it, but under no circunstance would you take you and your entire clan to a known enemy (a POWERFUL enemy at that) who you just tried to ASSASINATE the prior night (oh, and he knows you tried to assasinate him, because uhm, THE ATTEMPT FAILED), who also thinks your race is inferior and has been noted to make statements desiring a complete genocide/cleansing of your kind...
under no circunstance would you take your clan to him to see if he would be generous enough to give you a spot of land to live off of (really????) just because your town has been burned down. I mean, I don't care who you say is on my side behind enemy lines or how naive you are. It just doesn't add up.
3.) As for the male characters you try to "complete" in this game...sigh...well, half of them need major therapy. And that's all I'm going to say about that.
4.) I found the peach tree system fairly annoying. Just to explain - the Peach Tree system shows you little side stories with different charaters. You have to see tham all in order to complete the CG/illustration album. These side stories also give you "affection boosts," if you choose to watch the side story involving the character you are trying to complete during his route. To be fair, I enjoyed the side stories and I appreciated the idea that you could "choose" events. But there had to have been a better way.
Not only was the peach tree hard to manuever around, there weren't enough slots for me to get all the stories needed in an efficient manner.
For example, Zhang Liao's route (Cho-ryou, Japanese pronounciation), is the only route where you and your clan move to Changan (Cho-an, Japanese pronounciation). That means, when playing the game, you can only choose 2 side stories for that town. But I think there was a total of 8 or 9 side stories for that town, total. That means a lot of quick saves and toggling, just to get all the side stories.
Now, I didn't know this going into this route and so I ended up playing this guy three times, just get the side stories. Not fun and not necessary.

Kindly note that I may have had a unique experience with this game in that, like I said, most of the reviews online for this game are positive.
If you enjoy the mystical and place emphasis on the audio and visual, you will most likely have a pleasant experience this game.
Like I said, the music, visuals and voice acting really was first tier.
