After bringing the Vocaloid idol Miku and her friends to the Sony PSP, Sega decides to bring the K-ON! girls to your wide screen. See the girls interact in the event scenes, listen to their cute and energetic voices and watch them play around in Chibi forms.
The rules of the game are simple, just press the right button when the note hits the bar. Jam songs with your favorite girl band After School Tea Time perform hits such as Cagayake Girls and Don't Say Lazy. You'll win items and costumes when you clear stages. So dress the girls up and decorate the room as you go along.
Turn on your adhoc network function to call your friends to jam. The complicated music become easy jobs if you play together. A total of five people can join a session, so step into the shoes of your dream girl and play.

Awesome game~
Got this game recently and it's super fun~ Even though it's not in English it's easy to understand~ The gameplay is addctive et challenging~ 2 complaint I have, though, are the lack of songs from the second season of the anime and when you are in Costume mode, Sawakon ever stops talkng. EVER.But despite those 2 cons, this game is fantasic and I reccomend it to both rythm game fans and K-ON fans~

If you are a K-On! fan, you HAVE to get this game. It's pretty easy game to pick up even if you can't read Japanese. If you play rhythm games like Guitar Hero and so forth, you should be able to play this fairly quickly. The animation is wonderful, the music is great, the variety of accessories is great, and the girls look beautiful. Buy this game.

All fans should have it
Great rhythm game, with beautiful PV and a lot of costumes for all the HTT members. There are two difficulties, normal and hard, but an in-game item can make the songs hardier to play, enough to keep all rhythm game addicts entertained for a long time ! The fact that you can play the instrument of each member also increases the fun, and you will love to ear your favorite character say a little thing at the beginning or end of the song (like Azusa's "nyaa !"). There are also some pictures and voices you can unlock, and you will have to make some effort to have them all (after 150 hours, I'm still at 99% !). Also, there is the possibility of changing the volume of your instrument, so if you want to hear well your guitar, or at the contrary make Mio's perfect voice louder when she sings, it's possible. Only two things disappointed me : first, each time you change a girl's hairstyle or clothes, you have Sawako repeating the same things again and again, so you are tempted to put the volume down. And second thing : the musics of the second season (K-On!!) are absent. But if they make another game, I'll buy it for sure.

Fun Game
Very easy to play, menu's may be a little bit hard to get used if your NOT Japanese language knowledgeable, but you get used to what's what.
It's a game where you can easily lose track of time when playing, because you want to best your best. You can play as any of the girls, and each has there own hardness to them. It also has cute graphics. I hope they make a sequel.
The graphics are nice too, overall this game is fun. Easy to play, hard to get perfect (unless you play like 40 hours a week). A must for K-on fans.

Fun & Cute!
After getting my hands on the whole second season of K-ON!!, I finally decided to get the K-ON! Game, which as expected was really fun (from the same makers as Project Diva and PD 2nd), but at the same time, really cute and entertaining.
The number of songs isn't the strong point of the game, but it is to play each song with each one of the girls, which makes it different and harder depending on the girl (as a curious thing to point out, Mio's gameplay uses the direction buttons instead of the Square, trinagle, etc., and that's because she's left handed!). Definitely a challenging game for music gamers, but it's a bit disappointing that the game does not include the 2nd season songs, though it's obvious, as it came out before it aired.
Now, this game also offers some interesting options, such as taking care of the girls, giving them gifts, cakes, etc. One can also see what they do in the club room. There's also some sort of song editor which I still haven't tested.
This is definitely a must have for K-ON! fans, but it's also a fun game for casuals.
I'll give it a 5/5, though that would be a 9/10.

The game is easy to play but hard to master (in a fun way). It's one of those games you can't put down once you start playing. And with so many songs and 5 different characters (each with unique play style) you're be playing this one for awhile.

Fun and easy to play
Similar to the Diva games, this one offers a rythm game but in a different way, with the option to choose the instrument you will perform, and to clearly hear it when you mess up, this game makes up for a great choice to the diva games, I recommend getting both since it's a tottally different approach to the genre

A must-get collectable and game for K-ON! fans, music and non-music lovers. There's plenty of music for the music fans, and tons of side unlockables and events for the non-music fans.
There are even some anime scenes that are replayed like a skit (not the TV show animation, but the PSP character animation). Watch characters interact with each other or just calmly watch them walk around and gaze at their surroundings.
Even for a PSP game, this still has better-than-usual graphics; characters have plenty of detail, for their clothes and instruments.
Project Diva players, you must have this too.

Absolute must have for K-ON!! fans
If you own a PSP and is a K-ON!! fan, you won't be disappointed. You'd enjoy 'playing' the instruments and watching them play. The menu is easy to navigate even if you don't know Japanese, takes a few minutes to memorize what is what and you can enjoy the game.
For non K-ON!! fans, this might be just another rhythm game to you with decent music and graphics. But seriously, fans, get it!

Solid and simple game
Great game, especially for fans of the series. Every time I play it, I can't help but smile a little. Even with next to no experience in music and rhythm games, it's accessible. Good amount of stuff to unlock, so it has some good replay value as well. The only down side to the game is that the songs are abridged and not full length. Also, if you are familiar with the anime series, be aware that all of the songs are taken from the first season of the anime.
Overall, a solid and fun game that can easily be recommended to any music game or K-On! fans.

This game is a decent music rhythm game. There are 19 songs to play through on 2 difficulties, and each song you can choose each of the 5 member's instrument. that gives you almost 200 combinations!!
The extras include collecting costumes, outfits and accessories, art, sound clips, clock, and others. The menu is not difficult to navigate if you're not familiar with japanese.

Great game companion to the anime series
K-ON fans who's been waiting for a game that relates to the anime series should grab this game.
Although the game mechanic could be a little too simplistic for hardcores, the charm of the anime characters, cheerful anime pop, and relatable source material that's translated well to the game will win you over especially if you are a K-ON fan.
Likely chance of this game making across to the states is unlikely, but don't fear, as game is relatively easy to navigate to while you get the original Japanese voice acting.

Exciting
It's my first time playing a rhythm game and i had an exciting experience! each character have different set of buttons to be pushed and playing different characters would never be the same.
there is also a chibified version of the k-on girls which you can interact and give items to them and they are just so cute!
it would be even better if they had season 2 songs like 'No, thank you' but it is a great game as it is and a definitely must-have for K-ON fans!

Sega does it again
Another well-made game made by the guys who did the Project Diva games. All of the instruments have a distinct 'feel' to them. HTT gives the feeling that you're taking part in the song rather than just tapping buttons to the beat. All of the character image CDs are on here, which was a big deal to me.
There's no easy mode for the casual-est of casual players (like me), and the second half of the song list is difficult even on Normal. The background 'video' sequences are much stiffer than those in Project Diva, but none of the girls are virtual idols so I can let that slide.
Definitely worth adding to your collection if you're a fan!

Must have for fans of the series.
Featuring songs from L-on Season 1 the game features music video presentations the music. All the characters from the series appear and all the main characters are playable. A strong emphasis on collection and unlocking guarantee a lot of gameplay for completionists although all the songs will be unlocked after only a few hours of play. A must for K-on fans and fans of the Hatsune Miku playstyle.

Even with basic understanding of Hiragana and Katakana it should be easy to understand the basics (ie menus).
That being said the actual gameplay is fun and very hard to put down.
No K-On fan can go without this game. Only wish they had more music but I'm sure they'll have a second game with music from the second season.

This game is awesome in the way that you can pick what instrument you want to play in the songs. It is also very challenging in some areas of the songs which was a good surprise. I recommend this game HIGHLY

1st music game for the K'on series. A simple game to pick up and lots of replay value.

Best PSP Game EVER!!
After a long long time, finally my PSP has its function works properly: to play game! I used to use my PSP to watch anime before. But after I purchased this masterpiece game, now my PSP is often be played. I love this game as much as I love the anime. And even my wife enjoy playing it too :)

Great but lacking in Music
"K-On! Houkago Live!" is a great Rhythm game for the PSP with similar mechanics to "Hatsune Miku: Project Diva" with characters and music from the K-On! Anime.
Game-play is very fun and animations are very fluid so the game is as good to play as it is to look at. The level of quality is definitely higher than most 3D PSP games so you will not be disappointed game-wise. The whole game is in Japanese with only a few English words but it's easy to get used to the controls and interface so non-Japanese speakers/readers should be fine.
As for it's relation with the anime, there are cutscenes in the game but since I cannot read japanese, I cannot say if it makes sense or not. But all the main characters are present along with several secondary characters. You can also change the outfits of the five main girls to ones shown in the show and several new to the game.
All songs in the game are from the Anime and Character CD's so all fans from the show should be able to play their favorite K-On songs in the game.
The only real problem I have with the game is that it only features songs from the first season despite the game being announced halfway through the second season and the game only features 19 songs which may seem little to most people.
Like I said, the game looks and plays brilliant and the fan service is great. The only problem is the low song count but this is still a must have for all K-On! fans with PSP's

It's a MUST get game for true blue K-ON! fans
I love the part when the characters are inside the music room - they take nap, practise on instrument, or simply space out! The songs are a bit challenging, especially the fast number, not an easy game! However, I find it sad to not able to enjoy the graphics while concentrating on the games... I got distracted by the characters some times and made boo boo...

Challenging, fun and filled with fan service!
Fan Service is what this game is all about.
But it's not the only thing that makes this game worth it for any K-ON! fan. It's the simple yet challenging gameplay, the charming visuals, crisp sound and great music (even if it is lacking a few songs), not to mention there's a good amount of cotent to unlock.
It's easy to understand for the non-Japanese speaker. This game may not be worth the full price but it's worth owning for fans of the anime and/or fans of music games.

19 songs goes a long way
Before you think "19 songs? That's it?" think about the fact that there's 5 different characters and 2 difficulties to play per song. 19 just became a lot more.
This game, overall, is great, ESPECIALLY for HTT/K-ON fans. There's a ton of costumes and unlockables to make your HTT performance your own.
I'd say the only downside to this game is that there seems to be no PV-mode; the only way to view the videos playing with the songs is to be playing with the notes scrolling at the bottom. There IS a custom PV mode where you can make your own performances, but you are limited to the songs in the game and they're all off-vocal tracks.
I enjoy the game a bunch, and I'd recommend it, definitely. Comparing it to Project Diva is a stretch, I think, but it's a great game that'll stand on its own.

Great, fun, cute!
Many great songs, including most all of the character songs (at least for those of the main characters).
It doesn't lack in difficulty, what with the "secret score" and two difficulty settings.
It isn't too difficult to understand, if you don't know Japanese, which i don't; and even easier if you know the story!
In all, a must for any K-ON! fan with a psp!

Fantastic Game!
If you're a huge K-ON! you must get this game! This game has a lot of great features and it's so addicting. You can play any of the 5 members, the game is fully voiced, the gameplay is a bit challenging, you can change and customize your characters, and etc. The graphics will blow you away, plus it includes songs from the first and second season. I absolutely LOVE it! I would totally recommend this game!

Different
Different from Project Diva but still very fun. If you're a fan of the anime, you'll understand the story. Still, a fun music game even if you don't understand Japanese.

HTT in your psp
I thought this game would be awesome, but it turns out to be even better than I expected. Some people commented that the game was too "easy", but I can assure unless you're a rythmn game veteran, this game is far form being anything close to easy, specially on the "secret score" hard dificulty. There are tons of unlockables, from sweets you can use in the song to alter it's buttons, new costumes and even items you can give the chibi version of the girls to watch events and see them interact. The game lets you regulate the sound of various parts of the song independently, in case the default does not please. It features an ad-hoc mode which sadly, I haven't being to test out yet. The ability to play with any of the HHT girls in every music makes up for the relatively short song list (only 19, all HTT songs from the anime first season, except one). This is everything a fan of the anime could ask for in a game. Kudos to SEGA, and let's hope they give us a second game with the rest of the songs.

Great Style, and Addicting Gameplay.
When I received K-On! Houkago Live!!, I was insanely excited to say the least, I was anticipating a great game, based on one of my favorite anime series, and I was not disappointed. The Gameplay is fun, and addicting, and the graphics are cute, and stylish considering the small size of the PSP screen. Needless to say, if you want to max out your file your probably going to need an online walkthrough, but if your just looking for fast paced musical delight, you should have no problem getting used to the Japanese options. If you a fan of K-On or just a fan of music games, then I highly suggest you give this one a try, it's stylish, adorable, quick to get into, and addicting as heck.

Not enough songs, but great gameplay
Replay value is through the roof, you're encouraged to play through every song with every character and best of all, even if you don't understand Japanese you can still play through the game's menus.

Amazing
I love this game~! It's very enjoyable and fun! Some funny stuff and costumes! I really have no complains about this game. The only downside to the game is that there doesn't seem to be too many songs. But it's still, awesome.
