I played this game. It made me hard to stop playing.
It may look like gta or saints row but it is not. Gameplay is about investigation and how good you are with your detective skills. Unique and engrossing game.
Its an awesome game... very new and very different... with a lot of detective work... dont miss it.!!!
I got disappointed with this game. Being a rockstar title and because of the good reviews, I went ahead and bought the game. Unfortunately, after spending1 to 2 hours on it, I find myself getting bored. I only played the game once and never tried it again. It doesn't have the 'I can't wait to play again' factor like GTA.
Will probably play again when I finish all the other games.
It has the best graphics so far in an Xbox Game (at least the ones I`ve played). It has a GREAT story, I mean, you almost watch a movie while playing this game, you really go into the story, and it has a LOT of missions, so you can play a LOT and always see something new and have a lot of missions to play. The gameplay is AWSEOME with all its functions! Really, buy this game, I assure you won`t regret!
Weird looking facial textures, but easily the most realistic one yet.
Excellent graphics. Voice acting and motion capture. This is a wonderful game that you can replay again to make sure you clean up the trophies. Highly recommended.
Jogo muuuito legal! com certeza vai te prender um tempo :)
This kind of games are those kind that you don't see anymore. This game it's full of mystery, and will test you detective skills... Are you ready for this kind of challenge!?
without words, excellent game.
Truly a game for that rarer breed of gamer who prefers intellectual stimulation alongside their driving and shooting. Capturing the essence of detective work in a game is no mean feat but LA Noire does a pretty good job of it.
Fun game and an exciting new take on "open world" type games. Your character seemed to over react during interviews and the game made some of the interviews hard to understand/play. Also it was just toooooo long. Fun but not worth buying new.
This is one great game, and it let you experience the oldies time
Great game have been made of famous studio
Outstanding action game
Game can be seen everywhere designers ingenuity
It is worth playing
This game is a step in the right direction. Storytelling and cinematic scope is very well done. However, the main gameplay mechanic doesn't quite work and takes you out of the experience.
this is a great game of investigation and much gore in there, highly recommend for the fan sandbox and investigation
The game is very nice, recommended for purchase!
Despite a few problems with its implementation of interrogation gameplay, eye-straining map markers, and rushed plot at the end, the game is definitely worthy of a place in your collection.
A unique game that is sure to draw you in as you assume the interrogative role of the main protagonist, Cole Phelps. This is a game that is not to be missed, surely!
Very good game!
And with a great discount!
Recommended for purchase!
Thanks Play-Asia! / Obrigado Play-Asia!

Graphics, story and gameplay are fantastic.
The best adventure of PS3.
nice motion capture in this one, good game

The best game for the year!!!
That's a great game! It have all the elements to create a mystery environment, where you have to dig into the fog, search for clues, interrogate enemies, and became a genuine Sherlock. You gotta try it!!!
If you want something exciting buy this!!
This is a nice game for those who likes Rockstar games, good story and graphics, there's a lot of secondary missions. It's a must buy for Rockstar fans
Rockstar Again Again !!!!!

VERY GREAT GAME
Another good game from Rockstar.
another good game from Rockstar.
Must have. But you should buy " the complete edition " version
Set amid the violence and corruption of post-World War II Los Angeles, L.A. Noire is a crime thriller that seamlessly blends crime-solving, clue-finding, car chases and shoot-outs with revolutionary new interrogation-based gameplay that will allow players to read characters' emotions in order to reveal the truth. Players will take on the role of Cole Phelps, a decorated war veteran, who rises through the ranks of the LAPD by solving a series of gruesome murders and other crimes that bring him face-to-face with the dark heart of Los Angeles during Hollywood's Golden Age.
While the gameplay may get repetetive ate times, L.A Noire did a good job in presenting its story: it starts slow but has detailed storytelling and characters depictions.
i am not a fan of rockstar, because i dont like gta. i completed red dead redemption and that one is not bad. but i have to say i love l.a. noire. this game is very special, i dont remember there are many similar ones in the market (heavy rain is one, but i have not found a dirty cheap copy yet:) apart from the good music, good graphic, and good control, etc, all these details, i love most is that you are finally doing sth more intentionally. you have answers to find out! you will be more focused on the story! sure, similar to gta and rdr, you still can "destroy" many things, such as crash the cars (quite boring, if you ask me). so "traditional" rockstar fans will not feel disappointed either.
Rockstar's game never dissapoint me.. 5 stars for this game !!
Very good game from Bondi Studio.
Great rock star game! The controls are fluid and a decent improvement in the red dead mechanics (with the exception of car driving), the story is spectacular and acting is even better. My one and only gripe with the game is that looking for clues is a bit to easy when you have the default music and vibration on but without them you just end up spamming the A button until you pickup something. I initially didn't think this would be a game for a shooter/action fan like myself but after a while the detective mechanic runs off on me and I really get into the zone. Would recommend this game to anyone.
The game Excellent.
Rockstar is very well done, good story.
Wonderful and entertaining game!
Another wonderful game from Rockstar!
Excellent purchase and great store, I'm grateful to have purchased at Play-Asia, I was delighted to receive the product very quickly and several promotions.
A hug to all and would recommend 100%.
Really cool game. A masterpiece from Rockstar! I'm very happy doing all the cases stuff, such fun!
The only good adventure detective game. it feel become a real detective
Its a rockstar game, so, what i can say more?
Rockstar are awesome and their games never disappoint. This has great gameplay, facial animation and it is very different to the norm of games these days. The story is the winner, they will probably make a movie out of it. And what a bargain, gotta love Play Asia
wow LA NOIRE is cool.
One of the best games ive played in a long time.
great story and a great 1940's feel.
facial animations are a bit too real at times!
This is a detective story - an original, unusual and extremely absorbing product. It has create a rich world with top-notch production values with clearly a lot of attention to detail. If you want a period piece action-adventure with a great story then go with Mafia II. But If you prefer a slower-paced game that requires you to collect evidence to fill your notebook then subsequently check off those items in your notebook one by one, either through travel or intense conversations, then L.A. Noire is the game for you.
Great game. The shooting is not very Good but has great histories that will contagiate you. Recommend although it has some failures it has a innovating facial system
Not so good as GTA, but a great game.
wow this game is very good. nice story and game play. you must try it now. thanks
New kinda setting. New feel. A rock star game.
very good graphics
sound and sensational story
Another great game created by rock star
a good must buy game
another masterpiece game with good price offer by PA
One of the best games I ever played this year!
Brilliant story and excellent in CG.
GET THIS TODAY!!!
Rockstar have pulled another great game out of their ....
this game is recent and cheap
good game must buy
Another masterpiece from Rockstar
I bought this game for some actions, but i didn't find it.
I made like 7 murder's investigation and got borred, a lot of repetitive, same stuff always...
Rent it, if you like, buy here
L.A. Noire is a good game and what makes it even better is the bargain price that i got it for ;)
this is different game than others game's out there
nice graphic, interesting gameplay and its from a rockstar so its a must buy
Huge amount of playtime, the story of this game is attractive. Buy It !
Note for french users : all the game (except voices with french subtitles) is in French
Great game with good price.Must buy!
Another great game from Rockstar. Gameplay can get repetitive but it's still enjoyable.
the story of this game is quite attractive
the map for this game is way too big and get nothing to do
you can't fail the case no matter how many clues you have missed
Comes with amazing story and interesting gameplay.
The only drawback is the game becomes a bit repetitive towards the end.
Huge amount of playtime, great graphics and free dlc.
I love the gameplay and to be honest most games from Rockstar!
The game play felt fresh in the beginning, however after 10 or so hours it got kind of boring. I love the concept but I somehow feel they could've done some parts much better. Either way it's a great game, and really deserves the chance to be played. To put this short I really liked the first 5-10 hours then it just went downhill.
This game is amazing. I do not know where to even start. The story is amazing and really sucks in you. If you are a film noir fan, then this is THE game you have been waiting for all these years. If you are not a film noir fan, you will be after you play this game. There are no major drawbacks or disappointments in this game that I can think of.
If you like police stories, that's your game. You feel like you are in charge of the situation, much better than Heavy Rain. Even you can't change the history, the quality of the production it's so good that you won't care to it...
This is one company I would normally avoid but this game is totally different from the rest they have got to offer. As repetitive as it is the charm of good detective games is rare these days, and PA is selling it at an unbeatable price now which comes along with free DLC code.
Best game, i've played in a long time. If you like suspense, mystery and rockstar games, this is the game for you!
Truly one of hte best games from Rockstar I've ever played. Really feels like you're a cop back in the day. Looks great and plays even better. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to those who loves an investigative story.
Great open world game. Trying to figure out who is lying and who's telling the truth was fun. Dlc is good too.
I've never played a game that is so immersive as this one, and the acting in the game is unlike anything i've seen.
Recommended if you were a fan of old adventure games
its a new idea, good acting and a great story line but it wasn't really what i expected. expected GTA from a cop point of veiw. its just too linear for me. But its still a good game
Amazing graphics, recreation of 1940's LA and an interesting if truncated story. Can become a little repetitive, as the side-missions aren't too rewarding and there's a lot of driving around.
Of course, there's an option to let your partner drive, but I see that as a bit of a cop-out. Sometimes the interviews can be difficult to work out whether to 'doubt' or accuse someone of lying, as usually there are a few pieces of evidence that could tie someone to a lie.
But all in all, L.A. Noire takes gaming in a new direction, you should give it a go, as the story is long but enjoyable, and the 40's LA is brilliantly recreated. Voice acting is top-notch and the script is great.
Good graphics, good story and a different way of playing, very good
So, NTSC-J works fine with this scenario.
I've play about 1 hs. and the game seems good. Good graphics, music, gameplay, etc.
The expressions are awesome....
The story mode to get to the final victim is amazing good work Rockstar! There is a small flaw, i dunno if it's this CD or it's in the whole game... whenever my car hits some1, it usually takes 5 secs for my partner sitting in the car with me to react to it... it's quite frustrating.. coz driving ain't tht fun in this game....Otherwise. the game rocks... very different... very fresh. very entertaining..!!!
The games were repetitive and boring, but Rockstar has innovated with this game interesting and challenging. For those expecting another GTA, had a big surprise. Excellent game, I recommend to everyone.
L.A. Noire is a fresh take on the sandbox game-genre, surrounding itself with familiar game mechanics and introducing new ideas into a video game. The presentation is fantastic and the mechanics are solid although a little under exciting at times. The story is deep and fully fleshed out and Cole Phelps is intriguing in his own way. Pick this game up and explore the seedy underworld of Los Angeles. You wont be disappointed.
good story , good gameplay , good grafics ,few bugs
And I mean it!!
LA Noire is a great game and an impressive showcase of some new facial capture technology but this game isn't about freedom to do things how you want.
Just like the job of a real detective, this game is about methodical gameplay, keeping an eye out for clues and digging through lies to discover the truth.
This is one of the best-made games I've ever seen. The environments, animations, and voice acting are all superb. Truly, truly impressive. However:
The story is a hopeless jumble. What really appears to be the main case, that of the Black Dahlia murders, finishes about 2/3 through the game, and the final case is one you finish playing as someone else--a small character from the beginning of the game that the designers tried (and failed) to tie to the main character. The criminal conspiracy is full of holes and makes little sense; characters do things for unclear reasons.
Now, we're all used to poor storytelling in games, but that is usually made up for by fun gameplay. This game is nothing but story, though, so it's a MAJOR failing.
I am not criticizing story-based games. I actually prefer them. In Mass Effect, I'm irritated by all the boring shooting parts, because I'm a lot more interested in the character interactions and overall story. I love old-school adventure games. I like stories. But this game doesn't really have one.
Returning to the issue of gameplay, I have to say that I was simultaneously baffled, annoyed, and bored for most of this game. The interrogation mechanic is idiotic, as "Truth," "Lie," and "Doubt" do not mean what the game designers think they mean. Hitting either Lie or Doubt will often result in a totally-bizarre line being delivered that is totally unlike what you expected. Furthermore, sometimes the cases that you solve are not at all convincing. For example, at one point you have two suspects. Both have evidence linking them to the scene. One has a clear motive; the other just seems sketchy, but unrelated. If you pick the guy with the motive, the chief yells at you and you are punished (why the chief would know who was guilty is not clear).
The game would be a lot more fun if it never told you whether you got questions "right" or not. That one design choice makes it all the more clear that there is a story you're supposed to follow, in which case, I'd rather watch a movie or read a book.
In all honesty, this game deserves less than 3 stars, but because it is so beautiful and well-acted, I thought such a low rating would be unfair. However, make no mistake: This is a boring game.
A game so compelling and with a single script in the same pattern of its predecessor RED DEAD REDEMPTION. Highly recommended.
Very good game!!
Don't expect GTA here, meat of the game is interrogation and you'll be good at it. Downside is that there is not much side mission. This is a different game, but good diffence.
L.A. Noire is a ground-breaking game. Made by Team Bondi! Distributed by ROCKSTAR not made by rockstar, ok! This is a detective game where you solve realistic crimes, you are a POLICEMAN not a vigilante. If you want GTA go play GTA, if you want red dead go play red dead.
L.A. Noire blurs the lines between game and movie, the cutscenes are seamless and the characters feel real, solid performances and good use of motion capture. Authentic and outstanding 1940's style and atmosphere. Compelling investigation and interrogation mechanics. Memorable noir story. Some great shoot-outs and action sequences that make use of real LA locations. RECOMMENDED FOR MATURE GAMERS.
It's not the normal GTA game you'd expect from Rock star, think of point and click and GTA ish game play, very well done, great game !
Rockstar's next installment is an entertaining detective mystery. However, the game feels much more story driven then previous Rockstar titles. There is also much more focus on the cases and investigations, rather than action, so this may not suit everyone. Overall, a fun game, but much slower paced compared to the GTA series.
I hear a lot of people suffered to make this game, but the love really shows. Great characters and atmosphere really go a long way to take a genre to a new height.
I think I'll watch a few Film-Noir classics now.
But it isn't for everybody that likes GTA series.
interesting concept. but i would have appreciated more than a simple truth, doubt or lie model. moreover they force you to register to the fanclub to keep a track of your progress. trophy hunters might find that annoying.
five stars to the play asia service though.
wow this is the best game of the year, nice story and game play. you must try it.
Awesome game! Highly recommended!
L.A. Noire is a fantastic game that has all the ingredients a gamer desire of a great game. These is the sort of games that will captivate your heart & leave you completely satisfied upon completing the game. The settings (1940's), graphics, style are great & most of all, the gameplay is A1. One of the best games for 2011.
Great detective games with GTA like game mechanic. The map is probably 10x larger than GTA4! Like GTA 4, you can simply destroy or kill anything or anyone you like but by doing so, your game score will be negatively affected. Its still a pretty good game with freedom to move and do whatever thing you like.
amazing story, excellent graphics, great sound track. everything just blend into each other so well. Another Rockstar masterpiece. Think about Heavy Rain + GTA + some other mix up and you get L.A Noire. Brilliant game
BUY IT NOW!
Rockstar, no more words!
LA Noire is an interesting game, that will give you a great experience if not necessarily a great game. I found the story to be engaging and the character development unexpected.
The game feels like you are on rails at times as you search for clues and question suspects, but it is always interesting. The interviews and interrogations are what sets the game apart. Player character Cole doesn't always react as you would expect, but trying to choose how best to procede with questioning is exciting and challenging.
Gunplay, fist-fights and driving are solid, but unexciting. Though not what you should be after when you come to play LA Noire. It is the interactions between Cole, his partner, colleagues, superiors and of course, his suspects that are the enticing element of this game and the reason I recommend you play it.
This is another amazing game from Rockstar ... I am a fan
Great game play- you really get involved with the story and the characters. Excellent graphics and puzzles.
You must play this game, for very funnies moments
the oz did make a unique gaming experience. it's very unlike to the rest of rockstar games, not much of adrenalin rush, the whole is very smooth but not lack of excitement. maybe a better ending.
great game to be played, a must have!
the soundtrack somehow gave me goosebump
A great ensemble of people that lends their voices to the characters in the game really help bring the game to life.
There's also Walter Bishop (John Noble) from the Fringe TV series, 1 of my all time favorite actor.
Graphics, particularly the facial mapping is awesome, game mechanics are great, but as others have mentioned can feel a little repetitive and on rails. REGARDLESS.....a great game and a solid purchase especially at the always fantastic PlayAsia pricing. Keen to see this technology built into a grand theft auto title....hopefully.
Rockstar does it again with this original IP that took 7 long years to develop. As a detective in USA shortly after WW 2, you have to work your way up the ranks by solving various criminal cases. Interview witnesses, slug it out with suspects, and study facial expressions for vital clues as you investigate traffic, vice, arson and many more cases. Intriguing story with a great twist at the end.
The face expressions in LA noire is something amazing, but the game itself is so repetitive and doesn't inovate in nothing.
I have not completed this game yet; however, I am really satisfied with the results thus far. I agree with a previous review regarding repetitiveness but the game is still exciting and challenging and it shows where the next generation of gaming is headed.
The acting, animation, and quality of graphics is above anything I have personally played before and that alone keeps one coming back for more. I am sure there will be some type of sequel or similar game in the future and I look forward to Rockstar building on this for future releases.
The game is fun, sure. However, after a while it becomes repetitive. And the sole reason it feels "free-ish" is because you can wander around in city and respond to certain police calls. Otherwise, that 8 mile square long map is for nothing, and the game is like a point & click adventure where you handle everything in the same way.
However, there are some cases (I won't write here for spoilers) where you will really have fun, and facing with famous faces like John Noble in the game really makes you cheer up.
All in all, don't expect an experience like GTA. This is more like a Police Quest game where you can drive your own car.
This game is the first time I could actively get my wife interested in the XBox (other than some fleeting Kinect play). For that reason alone it rates a 4. A little clunky in parts, but very enthralling.
LA Noire is a third person action adventure game from new studio Team Bond that has ground-breaking gameplay mechanics that are completely unique to LA Noire.
LA Noire is set in 1947 Los Angeles, you play as Cole Phelps who is a former Marine officer who served in Okinawa and is now living in LA with his family trying his hand at a career in the police. Yes, a game published by Rockstar where you play as the cops fighting crime. You start off as a lowly patrolman but you quickly impress your superiors and end up as a Detective.
As a Detective you go through four desks: Traffic, Homicide, Vice and Arson. Each of these has a different partner and each of these are brilliant and deep characters, excluding Herschel Biggs, your Arson partner who is like an unfunny and unlikeable version of your Homicide partner. The characters are all cleverly written and performed, given the game's cutting edge tech which means that the faces in the game are the faces of the voice actors playing them. The narrative is tale of corruption, betrayal and drama, which makes it an engaging and deep game to begin with. LA has been beautifully rendered with lots of nice side activities to keep you occupied.
Overall, LA Noire is a spectacular game but it has a couple of small problems that bring it down, it's completely ground-breaking and will hopefully have massive effects on the industry.
Once again Rockstar gave us on of the best games on this generation of consoles.
Tha facial animation for this game is superb, I΄m astoned.
A Must Play of this generation.
excellente game thanks play asia ....
I have to say LA Noire is a bit of a let down after all the hype from reviewers.
The atmosphere of the '40s in the game is very good and it does look like a lot of time and research went into representing the look, feel and social attitudes of the time. However the world isn't as free and open as the game is often represented...you are not free to go anywhere you want.
The scripting and voice artists do a good job of immersing you into the story but the lip sync is pretty poor and character animation is at least 15yr behind current technology. Which is a shame because the unrealistic animation really detracts from the realism and at times effects the control.
The story keeps switching between the "present" day and flashbacks to earlier times which are meant to provide back story information for the characters. While flashback sometimes work in movies they are used minimally for key items whereas LA Noire just keeps chucking them in randomly at confusing times and they don't always add anything to the story. Mixed in with all this is the mixture of the computer taking control of you character at times and dropping you into an unfamiliar scenario without any idea of what you're meant to do or how to control the characters.
LA Noire could have been so much better and obviously was meant to be. It seems all those glowing reviews of the game are either lies or they haven't actually played it. Still its good to see someone trying a different setting, Red Dead Redemption was so much fun and very atmospheric, and LA Noire is worth a look. I'd recommend waiting for a price drop and giving it a try when you are looking for something a bit different.
Good game for my additional collection
This game is very inmmersive, the graphics are great, the sound and the atmosphere of the 40's are very credible, nice buy, thanx play-asia
No words to describe it! You'll know what this game is only playing!!! Marvellous!!!
Very interesting, different game. Great graphics, acting
L.A. Noire is much more crafted from the early days of GTA 3, it's even more crafted than Red Dead Redemption, in the sense that characters facial features and body language is presented so beautifully you really get a feel for the atmosphere. The combat is pretty typical from most GTA games and Red Dead - nothing we haven't seen before but no reason to change it either. The driving is probably the games weakest point if it had one, it takes a little time to get used to the steering and other cars driven by the AI can be frustrating to navigate around, especially during car chases. interrogation is the game's strongest point, with it being the main focus point of the game, you can imagine a lot of work went into creating it. By using the fully captured facial features, it is up to Detective Phelps to decide if someone is either telling the truth, misleading you or lying to you during an integration. The game can at times hold you by the hand, showing you the way to go and who to talk to next so this is a somewhat unusual added limit that most gamers aren't used to from GTA. Overall the game drags you into the story and the era it's set in to really deliver a great gaming experience with a lot of room for future expansion with downloadable content.
Try this one, a Rockstar revolution. Highly recommend.
Great game, full of content. Keeps you thinking and wondering about choices you make.
If you haven't already picked this up then put this in your cart ASAP. This is the must have title from 2011! great gameplay, a story that just pulls you into the atmosphere of the game environment that ultimately stops you from putting the controller down. Buy it today 95/100!
Astonishingly amazed by this Masterpiece!
Unlike other rockstar games, this one doesnt have other things to do then solving crimes...
If you are familiar with Mafia II, you'll feel at home with L.A. Noire. The game is entirely linear, but with THAT much content? With the amount of work put into the game? It is entirely worth it!
Downsides are the slightly slow pace and repetitiveness of the game. Not an interesting game for those who don't appreciate a good story too.
Very good graphics and storyline...
No regrets! Excellent gameplay!
A bit repetitive though...
But all in all it's a must buy!
this game its incredible and the shipping had perfect, one week in my home from spain, thanks play-asia
this game its incredible and the shipping had perfect, thanks play-asia
The latest game by Rockstar, it draws from GTAIV and Red Dead Redemption before it, with a similar engine/feel, but changes things up by putting you in the setting of 1940's Los Angelos, as the by-the-book cop Cole Phelps.
The game moves you from detective desk to desk, solving cases, each one involving searching the crime scene for clues, apprehending a suspect, then interrogating them. One of the major advances in this game is the facial motion scan technique which is vital for letting you read your suspects to detect subtle lies in their facial expressions. Gameplay is mixed up with some gunfights, and driving.
Technically speaking, you won't find a game with such depth and detail to facial animation. The environment itself is also beautifully recreated based on research of 1940's LA. The rest is what you'll come to expect from previous games from Rockstar, good collision physics, lighting and particle effects.
This is a game that definitely pushes the medium, it might not be for those who come to expect mainstream smash hits, but is a must-have for fans of the detective and noir genre that truly captures and respects the style.
I thoroughly enjoyed L.A. Noire - the motion scan technology they used for the video sequences and conversations etc is incredibly impressive, and really does spoil other titles for you. Having played other titles since, watching the animations of characters talk and the lip sync issues really grates after you have seen what is possible. Broadly, the story is very interesting and I felt it was wrapped up at the end very nicely. The graphics are gorgeous, and post WWII Los Angeles is just gorgeous. I spent a lot of time just driving around the city, stealing cars, running over pedestrians, and just enjoying the landscape. Gameplay wise, it's also pretty tight - investigating crime scenes is simple and yet satisfying, and interrogating suspects was really the knock out punch for this game (referring back to the motion scan tech), as the video footage is just so good you get a hunch for the truthfulness of the people you talk to just by the subtlest facial expression. Very impressive stuff. Highly recommended.
A unique experience with superb visuals THE blockbuster hit of the summer don't watch a movie buy L.A. Noire and experience the seductive world of being a detective in the city of angels during the 1940's.
The game is good, nice idea, good story line and good graphics.
But it does get a bit repetitive after a while
Amazing facial capture technology and the story is interesting. The gameplay gets a bit boring and tedious.
La Noir is a mix between CSI and Godfather, Mafia game play.
Well, the game is certainly almost perfect, a little adjustments and it would have been a perfect one.
If you are not a fan of any CSI game or the show, then you may not like the game, since 50% of it requires you to investigate, review evidence and interrogate the suspects.
Action is a minor at least in story mode, while more action awaits you within a 40 mini side missions to satisfy that missing need.
Overall, the game is more of an adventure rather than an action unlike GTA and Red dead redemption. And it is very classic since it is LA Noir. Expect more stand alone cases to be released for purchase online.
The facial system of LA Noire is nothing short of amazing; with every actor's twitch and mannerism replicated perfectly with 32 HD cameras that obliterate the uncanny valley. However, the game itself is quite basic, and can be frustrating trying to adhere to Cole Phelps' logic as he questions suspects - the game is quite strict by not allowing players enough leeway to make their own correct decisions based on their own logic and common sense. The run and gun gameplay is quite cumbersome (which seems to be the norm on a Rockstar title), and many of the characters are quite forgettable.
Still, this is a fun game that dares to innovate and tell a genuinely well-acted story, and I applaud Rockstar and Team Bondi for that.
Fantastic game, a really unique detective game, well worth buying.
This game is slightly overrated. Maybe game was a bit short and repetitive, but good far outweighs the bad. The best feature in the game is the graphic.
great game, perfect in every sense. perfect, speedy delivery as usual!!
a great game from Rockstar, must play!
A great detective game. A must have for adventure game lovers.
Great game that's goes back to the roots of adventure gaming, focusing on storyline rather than explosions. Look forward to seeing more from Team Bondi.
I love this game, but it seems to be lacking in some areas.
Good - The feel of the game is amazing. The clothing, cars, and city looks/feels like it should. The acting is great and the new facial animation capturing is fantastic.
Bad - The story tends to drag a bit and it get repetitious. There really isn't much to do in this massive map. There are no shops to go to and you have no freedom to do anything. I wish it was more, "Good cop or Bad cap."
Don't get me wrong, I love this game. I just wish there was more freedom and the cases weren't so similar.
Rockstar took a gamble with it's sandbox-meets-adventure gameplay, so those expecting a "Noir" like GTA might be disappointed. But the setting and writing is stunning, and hopefully spawns as many imitators in a new genre, just as GTA did!
L.A. Noire pays homage to many film noire type movies such as, L.A. Confidential, The Big Sleep, Chinatown, and the Maltese Falcon. Rockstar did an amazing job capturing the landscapes of L.A. The gameplay and story are interesting, however, it does seem repeditive at times. I would highly recommend this game to anyone interested in detective and murder mystery stories. Be warned though, this in NOT GTA or RDR in L.A.
Good story and interesting playstyle. My only complain is that the way the chapters work makes the game pase a bit slow
once again got my order quickly and properly
thanks again play-asia!!
the game is fantastic, the graphics speachless, rockstar at its best!
this was an amazing game for the first few cases then i relized that the rest of the cases were going to be exactly the same, the game got boring and tedious at this stage and it hasnt been played since... unfortunate i was lookig forward to this one.....
Another goodgame by rockstar, this is an open world cop game which you have to work through 4 police divisions.while on a job you will be finding clues to solve the case, interrigating suspects, have car chases and shoot outs. It's good to be a goodguy for once.similar graphics to gta 4.overall it is a great game to play but does get a bit repetitive after awhile.work the purchase.
L.A. Noire is a great game, let me say that first and foremost. I mainly took issue with small things, like the Lie/Doubt system. Additionally, allowing your partner to drive you around everywhere removes the necessity to virtually ever drive your vehicle, and hence you can get by without seeing the vastness of the city, if you wanted. These things aside, the facial capture technology they used is fantastic. Having lived in LA myself, I recognized many locations, and was pleasantly surprised by others long since destroyed. Worth a purchase. This game is one of those big stepping stones, that will hopefully lead somewhere worthwhile.
Rockstar have delivered an intelligent, thought provoking game with a story that will keep you gripped, without forsaking actual game play.
The graphics are as good as they claim, I just wish I as better at reading a decent poker face :-)
L.A. Noire is full game definitely worth the $50 it costs on Play-Asia. It's very long (3 discs!) but stays interesting through the end. Though it's not a typical Rockstar action title, they've brought the same high quality they usually bring to their games. Buy it!
nice realistic graphics exciting cases the interrogation feature is awesome really a must have game
Game is really great as far as you know what type of game you are buying ! (It is not GTA at all !)
Also, I'd like to confirm that the game is region Free and that Asian version has Full French subtitles and menu !
LA Noire is a fantastic game. The facial mapping is out of this world and the amount of fun I have had so far is superb. I recommend this game to everyone and is surely a contender for game of the year 2011!
Got my game already, thanks Play-Asia!
Well, Rockstar has done it again. This game is an absolute game! Buy it if you like puzzle, adventure, crime-solving game!
Chances are that you have never played a game like L.A. Noire before. Interrogations are the best part of this game. Street crimes are a lil bit repetitive though. Overall, a must buy title.
It's just great. Rockstar took the sandbox game to a whole new level. It's like Heavy Rain combined with sandbox mechanics.
Collecting the cars sucks >
LA Noire is an amazing achievement, the attention to detail in both the story and the game world is staggering you cant help but feel absorbed into the life of 1940s LA. But the real breakthrough is the acting and character which is as close to a movie as there had ever been. Im so excited to see where this tech can go in the future with other developers such as bioware, i thought mass effect 2 was great but this is ..... just wow.
Enough Said,Buy This Game Right Now!!!
Great game presented by Team Bondi & Rockstar with a graphic not bad than Mafia II & awesome motion scan facial capture make all of the character emotion's in this game look like a real life person = =
LA: Noire is such a unique experience in a sea of Copy-cat games that rarely stray from a proven formula.
This is a much slower and methodical game that really rewards the player for digging deep into it's detective cases full of victims, clues and suspects.
Don't go into this game expecting the kind of freedom you have in something like GTA IV or Red Dead Redemption - this game may have the name Rockstar attached as publisher but LA: Noire certainly falls under a completely new and different pedigree to those titles.
If you want something like those games, start looking elsewhere. If you want a breath of fresh gaming air that strays from the formula, LA: Noire is a must-own.
