Throw spells and sparkly magic around. The gears of destiny are turning, and none of the magical girls can escape. The original script writer Tsuzuki Maki wrote an brand new story for this installment and the game includes new characters such as Ametie, Kirie, Vivo, Ainharuto and Tohma.
The battle system gets an upgrade with better camera angles and even grander magical effects. Hammer your opponents to the ground, or swoop down on them from the air. The Range Shift battle system changes your controls when you go from long range to short range, allowing players to device their strategies.

Love it~
I'm a huge Nanoha-Fan and I really love this game. The animation is very nice, just like the physics and you can choose several characters from the 1st and 2nd Season.
Worth the money and now definitively my favorite Beat 'em up on PSP^^

One of my most fave fighters on the PSP
A great sequel to Battle of Aces, in terms of both story and game-play. I absolutely loved this game and have been playing it for ages now!
The GOD Box is full of goodies as well, the cute nendoroids are sitting on my shelf right now~ (The DVD is quite good too!)
Nanoha fans should seriously consider buying this game, even if they don't understand Japanese (like me). A basic translation of the story is already on the web and game-play is quite intuitive.
The character roster has expanded quite a bit and still remains balanced in my opinion. Even melee based characters like Zafira and Einhart can face off against beam spammers like Nanoha!
The game A.I has been upgraded I think, the game is more challenging that the previous one. I'm glad that unlike some fighters, the A.I isn't simply cheating but displaying real skill - if you know what you're doing you can still win (so if your used to just beam spamming like in the first game, your not going to get very far)
In any case, Gears of Destiny is one of my favorite games on the PSP and is great for Nanoha fans!

Horrible game
Unbalanced characters, ultra-aggressive A.I. and the game forces you to play as the weakest characters in the game to get to the fun ones.
The first one was a lot more balanced and fun than this one is. You'll just feel pure frustration and anger by the time you get to the fourth sequence. Pass this up and get Monster Hunter instead.

Not a bad game
This is a very big improvement from the first game. Maybe because this time there Banpresto had a hand in it. But mainly because the battle system along with many other additions like the costumes and the extra stuff that comes with it that makes the GOD box a whole lot worth.

Everything as expected and better
Comparing with the last game there has been much improvements. I especially enjoy the increase of playable characters. I am a Weiss Schwarz player so the God Trial deck attracted me very much. Although the deck itself isn't really "Godly" but collection wise it indeed lives up to its name "The God Trial Deck" Nanoha FTW

Good Game
Much better than the previous game. They fixed the fighting system so you really can't own. The story mode is harder, because of the new skills. The final boss isn't a pushover and you need to really think to beat her.
Really don't need to know Japanese to play, but it will help understand the story in full.
They added new animation, which is pretty smooth. They have a lot of characters, but sadly they lack some of StrikerS characters. They added Vivio, but no one else. Outside of that they did add interesting characters.
Like Kertaz, said one of the biggest downsides is combos. It's pretty much the exact same as the last game. That's the only downside.
So in short, a lot better than the last game (Battle of Ace's). If your a Nanoha series fan, it is a must get for a fan.

Really fun, great game
The first game was honestly not very good, the lack of characters made it so that the fun factor was limited, and the story mode wasn't that interesting, but this one surpassed my expectations, the inclusion of some new characters, with some all of the old ones was nice, but seeing all the effects reworked made it look a lot better, this game's story mode has been great thus far, really recommend the game, it is really fun

Improved version of the previous game!
The game is really improved.
The battle is smoother than the previous game, the AI isn't as pushover as the previous game. Or at least I felt that the AI is slightly better.
Each character has several outfits that they can use and the amount of character was increased. There's about twice as many characters in this game compared to the previous one (Battle of the Aces)
The moves and combos, however, are still limited like the previous games.
The game will also detect the previous game's save (though, not really sure what it unlocks as my Japanese knowledge is limited)
