description
From the critically acclaimed director, Hideo Kojima, a new 3D experience re-imagined from one of the most popular Metal Gear Solid titles from the past, comes Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater.
In the aftermath of the Second World War, the world was torn in two between East and West. It was the beginning of a new era- the Cold War.
October 16, 1962. The President of the United States received word that the Soviet Union had deployed nuclear missiles in Cuba. The world trembled in fear as the prospect of nuclear war loomed ever closer.
After days of tense negotiations, the Soviets finally agreed on the 28th
to withdraw their missiles from Cuban soil. With the resolution of this incident, later to be known as the Cuban Missile Crisis, it seemed that humanity had survived yet another threat to its existence.
However, there was a secret condition in the deal that put an end to the crisis. Nokolai Stepanovich Sokolov, a Soviet scientist who had defected to the West, was to be sent back to the Soviet Union. The U.S. government agreed to this stipulation, and returned Sokolov back to his native land. Little did they know
that Sokolov was to be the designer of a nightmarish weapon. Now, with Sokolov back in their hands, the Soviets are ready to resume its development. If this weapon is completed, it will mark the beginning of a new age of fear.
August 1964. Realizing at last the urgency of the situation, the CIA forms a plan to recapture Sokolov. They dispatch the covert FOX unit to Sokolovs research facility, located to the south of the great Soviet fortress of Groznyj Grad. Led by former SAS member Major Zero, FOX is a next-generation special-forces unit that operates both as a specialized combat group and as a covert intelligence outfit. The FOX units modus operandi is to send a single agent, backed by radio support from afar, into enemy territory to carry out solo sneaking missions.
August 24. A lone soldier swoops down from out of the blue. The mans code name is Naked Snake.

Not The Best Way to Play
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has a special place in my heart. Not only it's the first game that has touched me but it's also the only game I've completed more than three times. While it is impressive to see such a large and beautiful game on a small handheld, it's not the best way to play because the game really feels like it wasn't designed for a handheld.
To start off, this is a remake and not a port. So some of things are changed from the PS2 version like you can walk while crouching now. However, even if it's a remake, the game itself feels like it was designed to play on a TV. For example, Snake Eater relies heavily on hunting animals and it is near impossible to find any animals smaller than an alligator. This doesn't sound too serious but it becomes a problem when the game heavily relies on hunting. Also, you'll be needing a circle pad pro peripheral because your hands will get cramped trying to control this with limited buttons on 3DS.
It's not all bad, though. This game easily offers one of best 3D effects among other 3DS games. Truth be told, I barely turn on my 3D when I play on my 3DS but this game made me do it from start to finish. Also, if you haven't played this classic, the story is brilliantly told and written that will move you in many ways.
Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater is a decent title on the 3DS but if you can, I recommend you to play it on other platforms like on PS3 with the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. While the 3DS version is not bad, but it's not the best way to experience this game. If you have no options and if you haven't played this game yet, definitely pick it up. As a gamer, is it an obligation to play this classic, one of best survival & stealth game ever.

Snake Virtuos Mission from 3DS (AMAZING)
I'm a big fan for all the metal gear Saga, and of course this remake for the 3DS is awesome (and i need to buy it ^^), some new features, 3D is really cool and of course the game play make's this metal gear a master piece game.
