Nice looking game, but single player is kind of repetitive
So...the gameplay seems mostly the same for every character...but I'm still learning the ropes. The RPG side of the things from the first game isn't there but that was repetitive as hell so...probably a good thing. Graphics are much nicer than before. Maybe the differentiation will come once I get better at the game...still good fun though.

It's a nice game. I do think it's too bad there aren't many new characters, though. Other than that it's a real nice game!

Best naruto game i have played since the psp versions!! If you want a shallow but action packed naruto game with great graphics, this is the game to buy as it can provide hours of fun to you and a up to 8 friends in tournament mode!!
Pretty good
I'm new to the Naruto games so I can't compare this to the previous games but I must admit that it was a pretty fun game to play. There are a lot of good things about this game but there are a handful of negatives as well.
The Positive:
Huge character roster which includes most of the series' important/popular characters and the animation for each character is fluid and beautiful. The gameplay is mostly straight forward and the anime cutscenes were a nice touch. It was especially helpful when I needed to catch up on the series since I stopped keeping track after Sasori's arc. Cute/Funny gimmicks are abundant; this game really does have charm.
The Negative:
The novelty of the game wears out pretty fast, it did to me anyways. I was able to complete a good chunk of the game in one sitting and find it hard to find motivation to continue. There is definitely a lot of stuff to do but I have trouble describing it as 'content'. They feel more like chores.

The combat engine has been tweaked to make it a little bit more technical and offer some more possibilities to combo, etc. But the singleplayer mode has been much reduced to basically just a series of normal fights with some barely-animated cutscenes in between. So in other words, like most fighting games out in the market. (whereas NUNS2 was more like an action-adventure game with the boss fights and RPG elements.)
So it depends what you're looking for. If you just want to play ordinary fights against CPU or humans, then it's a good improvement. But if you want to play through single player, it's not as compelling as NUNS2.

Storm 1 + 2 + some tweeks = Generations
Basically, Generations mixes the first 2 games in terms of character roster. Adds a few that were missing for a long time (Zabuza and Haku) and uses Storm 2 battles with a few tweeks.
The game is less cheap than before, you can only use substitutions 4 times and then wait for it to recover, giving more importance to resource management, since getting comboed without any substitution left would mean heavy damage. This also gives guarding more use.

Another important tweek is the ability to cancel a Chakra dash, since in previous games luring an enemy from far away to use a chakra dash meant and wide open enemy for 3 seconds to hit with any kind of jutsu.
