Better than FF XIII

Nier combines the gameplay of so many kinds of games yet they all feel coherent and most importantly fun. The story, chars, music, gameplay, atmosphere are top notch. Even though this is published by S-E, it is made by Cavia, the developer who made Drakengard. So one can expect some major plot twists at the end.

Awesome character design
Nier Replicant has a lot to offer when it comes to an A-RPG. But the main reason this game is special is that cool character designs won't be the same in non-Japanese releases. Nier Replicant really cares about graphic detail and artistic realization. The gaming experience that you can get by playing Nier Replicant will be far more enriching than that of playing the Gestalt version.

Very interesting action RPG!
Nier Replicant is a Japan only version release. Apparently the difference to the western Nier is that the main character is younger in the Japanese version. Anyway, Nier Replicant is a very interesting action RPG. Soundtrack is probably a highlight with great music that brings life to the game. Graphics might not impress at first look, but as you play you can see some scenes with great visuals and interesting camera work. Battles are intense in action with combos, special attacks and magic. Voice work should be highlighted too with known names in the anime world like Ai Nonaka, Mai Kadowaki and Ryoko Shiraishi.
Definitely worth checking if you can understand japanese.

Great game
Nier Gestalt was one of my favorite games on the PS3 that I replayed several times, so I decided to give the Japanese version (Replicant) a try. Gestalt has you playing as a father-character whereas in Replicant you are Yonah's brother, I wasn't expecting more than a change in character design and was a bit surprised by how different Replicant is. For one, almost every single line of dialogue has been changed in either minor or major ways to better convey the different relations between the other character and Replicant Nier. I personally prefer Gestalt, but Replicant is by no means bad: for major fans of Nier playing through both Gestalt and Replicant is definitely worth it.
