PERFECT Remake
Persona is one of my most favorite RPG game series. This remake is PERFECT in any way: Re-arranged soundtrack, more simple interface and battle system, new choice to choose difficulties, all characters re-obtained their ORIGINAL name (from the Japanese version), as well as the Snow Queen quest which was not contained before in the US release for the PSOne version.
For all Persona and RPG fans, you shouldn't miss this game! Remember, this game come with Original Soundtrack CDs!!!

The first installment of the series came to PSP in a new form. With cool story and new great musics. A must for Persona's fans.

Persona for the PSP? Please.
Persona has always been a bit of an outsider series. It has a fairly large catalogue of titles to choose from. I've always personally been confused by it with spin offs like Digital Devil Saga and Shin Megami Tensei. I still would recommend this as it's the first game in the series and finding a copy of Persona for the Playstation is more difficult to get a hold of (in English)

Lovely.
This PSP port of the Playstation 1 RPG is a boon to all of us PAL gamers who were shafted on it's original release.
Having played (more like struggled) through earlier Shin Megami titles on the Super Famicom and the like, and delighted in the later installments like Persona's 3 & 4, it's a treat finally getting to the chance to play the first Persona installment.
Yeah, it's a 15 or so year old RPG and in part's it definitely shows. But I for one am not bothered. Great game!
And the complete 2-disc soundtrack is terrific!

Persona PSP
Absolutely loved this game. FINALLY, we get to experience ALL of the thrills of the "Snow Queen" route that wasn't previously available to us until now... New fully voiced cut-scenes are a welcomed addition to this new version of Persona and the TWO optional dungeons are pretty cool - and challenging - too. KUDOS Atlus!!!

Worth remake
After sucess of P3 and P4, Atlus realeased the original by modifying to excellent way. There are new story , system , anime and so on.More importantly , music is all composed by Meguro , so I dont have to say how superb. If you like rpg with good story , dont let it get away.

Worthy Remake
Been a fan of the Persona series from the start - this remake really is the definitive version - perfect for the PSP platform. Enjoyable story, with many hours of gameplay... Very much enjoyed - great game all-round. And at this price, who could say no? Highly recommended to J-RPG fans.

PSP Persona Throwback
Persona is a turn-based RPG in the Shin Megami Tensei Series. Having never played the original Playstation release, I cannot make any comparisons between the two games, so my opinion is based off of the PSP release only.
Persona is a worthwhile game that can be very entertaining and challenging. Initially, it can seem a little slow. It is one of those RPGs that may take a few hours to actually get into, but once you get accustomed to everything, it is more enjoyable.
The battles are random encounter and are turn based. You move through dungeons in first person and fight along the way. There are also rooms you will find throughout the dungeon, and the camera will change to a more standard angled-3rd person view, where exploration is possible.
Visually, Persona is a good-looking game, but has its flaws, probably due to its age. The world map the user navigates is detailed and is very pleasing to the eye. The dungeons are nice looking, but a little repetitive. The exploration scenes are also nice, but a little dull in terms of color. As for the character sprites, they seem a little lifeless, but its easy to come to terms with it considering it is originally a Playstation release.
The sound design is alright. The characters make simple battle shouts during fight scenes, and there is always upbeat music playing during these. Some may like the music and some may not, but I get the feeling it is a stylistic choice, rather than just adding different instrumental pieces that fit the mood of the battles and cutscenes.
Persona has its strength and weaknesses just like any other game. It's just that they may tend to stand out more when compared to more recent games. If you feel you can look past these, then Persona can definitely be a highly enjoyable game.

Excellent remake
This version restores the original character portraits, adds new cut-scenes, changes the soundtrack and restores the Snow Queen side quest!
It's a classic RPG with first person dungeon crawls, turn based combat with guns, weapons and Personas and a high encounter rate. The story can be a bit confusing at times, but it's fun and if you're interested in seeing Persona's roots, grab this. Don't expect it to be anything gameplay-wise like the newer Personas.
Excellent purchase for those wanting the missing side quest in English, SMT/Persona fans and those who like old school RPGs.

Great game
Can be a bit confusing at times but overall it is worth the investment. It is great to have a classic RPG with real depth available on the PSP. I have not played the original but really enjoyed this one.

Worth playing
Persona for the PSP is definitely worth checking out for any PS1/Persona aficionado, as it is far cheaper than the original PS1 version. While it may feel a little bit dated, it is easy to get over. It starts off a bit slow-paced, but when you get used to this, it gets really enjoyable. Plus, it comes with the Bonus 2-disc soundtrack, so that's another plus.

Great game but could have been better
This game is basically a remake of the PS1 game, like all remakes, cutscenes and songs are added. However, there lacks additional content which you'd expect from a great game developer.

Great remake
If you missed this the first time around on the playstation, and you're a fan of turn based rpgs then this remake/revamp is well worth considering. The somewhat unique settings of the persona series really help make it stand out from the usual fantasy rpg fare.

An excellent remake
Absolute must for any die-hard turn-based RPG fans. Original character progression, and television-like presentation. Very high quality remake, and a fairly amusing (though I can't comment how faithful) translation. My biggest problems are with the painfully repetitive soundtrack (especially combat music) and rather unintuitive control mapping for walking around.

Most Original JRPG
What is most importan for game - STYLE!!!, and style of this game is very unique, because of outstanding soundtrack and storyline. But controls and gameplay isn't as good as everything else, movements are little troublesome, and sometimes you will have to level-up too long times wich may made you bored of this game. However, i like the idea to negotiate with monsters instead of fighting them.
In result (from 1 to 5 where 5 great, 1 worst):
- storyline - 5
- sound - 5
- graphics - 4
- control - 4
- gameplay - 4

Great Game
It may look basic, but the game has a good story, strategic battles and most important: replayability.
Not only that it comes with a 2 disc OST.

This is what a remake should be...
When this game was first released on PS1, character names were Americanised, character sprites were redrawn to be more "American", scenario and hidden ending were omitted... it left the fans from back then with a wish that one day we'd be able to play it as it was meant to be played.
Years later, that wish is finally fulfilled. Note to people, this is one game where you really have to earn your level ups... not for people who want an easy game and easy-to-follow story.

The beloved serie. Now improved on PSP !!!
Super cook soundtracks and story.
If you like P3 or P4, you can't go wrong with this.
For new comer to this series, you buy and play this to taste the original Persona and wait to get the better with Persona 3 that will come out soon!

I really loved this game, good story and really deep gameplay, graphics may not hold to the rest of the package, but that is a minor complaint considering how good the gameplay is.
The game isn't really for everyone, people who love in-deep dungeon crawlers should get this one, others can pass.

hmmm
Great to see the original on the beloved PSP, some of this game is done very well but some of it graphically is a bit shoddy... I think its a shame that more was not done to replace old animations. the frequent battles are a too frequent but hey its Persona on PSP.. and thats cool enough for me. Bonus CD is a + would have preferred an art book though..
