Great upgrade.
Sony did the right thing with taking away the piano black finish and redesigning the font for the ps3. This system feels extremely solid and well built, like most of Sony’s hardware. If you have yet to get a PS3, this is the time to jump on. The system is cheap now and very small. Well done.

Ni No Kuni Console
I loved the game so much I wanted the special console that Sony only produced for Japan. It is a beautiful cream color with a small etching of Mr. Drippy in one corner. Even though made for Japan, I was able to plug it in and have it work in the USA without any special adapters or transformers. This is my new pride and joy.

I love my new Ninokuni Slim^^
I love studio Ghibli and i have been thinking of switching to the new slim format since my original ps3 metal gear solid edition sucks so much energy even when turned off! The color is like a pearl shimmer pale yellow/gold. The ps3 logo is written in gold. The only thing that somewhat disappointed me is the asian version lacks the hardbound manual book >

In case people wonder about the faceplate
The faceplate is indeed made of plastic shell, not decal sticker as some people might assume. It fits snuggly around the top of the PS3, and I don't think it hinders heat dissipation as most of the heat comes out through the rear vents and concentrate at the bottom rear left of the console.
It's a nice looking faceplate and overall, the bundle is a good buy because you're getting Uncharted 3 Steelbook at a cheaper price :)

Although it has lost the backwards compatibily, this version of the ps3 is an improvement. It's lighter, doesn't heat up as much and it's a lot less noisy.
The white version of the console looks better in person than in the stock photos.

Nicely done
It lost a few things, but none of them matter to me. I don't ever play PS1 or PS2 games. It's a good quality Bluray player for the price and not to mention it's a gaming system. They slimmed the size down and reduced the price. I love it!

But the loss of backward compatibility, a Wi-Fi N-compatibility, lack of custom OS Installation and less-than-sweet slim looks hurt a bit. Otherwise, it would be 5 out of 5! :-)

When the console gets too hot (and that's not so rare) it can crash on some heavier games, but that's probably just a problem for people that live on hot places like me.

Great System!
I have previously owned both the playstation 1 and 2, and this one is yet the best. Sony does a good job keeping up with the graphics and console features. I love how this system can play blue-ray movies and even save files to the harddrive. This makes game loading and movie/music watching/listening very easy and quick. Great system!

Great Upgrade to the Console, Beautiful Special Edition
This is my second PS3 after having one of the original 80GB Backwards Compatible models (USA). I have to say I love the new form factor, the noise level is dramatically reduced, and the sheer beauty of this special edition console is unexplainable.
Some things of note:
Region 2 DVD Player (Importers Beware)
Region A Blu-Ray Player (Japan/USA/Asia)
True 1.3 HDMI Out over Blu-Ray meaning Bitstream Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master works compared to the FAT PS3's.
About the Game:
Only about 5% gets translated to English so be prepared to do a lot of research on the internet if you don't speak Japanese. The battle system is very good and the story seems like it's going somewhere I just don't know what's really going on. Will definitely buy the US version of this game when it releases separately.
This is my second PS3 after having one of the original 80GB Backwards Compatible models (USA). I have to say I love the new form factor, the noise level is dramatically reduced, and the sheer beauty of this special edition console is unexplainable.

Region 2 DVD Player (Importers Beware)
Region A Blu-Ray Player (Japan/USA/Asia)
True 1.3 HDMI Out over Blu-Ray meaning Bitstream Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master works compared to the FAT PS3's.

WORTH IT!
So prices for this are pretty high but believe me they WILL increase over the next year when the game is released in NA and Europe.
The game itself is the new Final Fantasy VII, it has everything fans want, amazing story, characters (with ACTUAL character development unlike how lame XII's characters turned out to be), beautiful scenery, music and graphics... So naturally all items associated with it are going to skyrocket in value as they become harder to obtain, and this one will be one of the rarest.
Putting the sheer collector's value aside, the system itself is beautiful, Sony did an amazing job with the white matte design and pink etching (omg SO FABULOUS!!!! lol) plus it's 250GB, which in itself makes the system worth the extra bucks, especially if you are planning on playing FFXIV because it will undoubtedly take up some space as they release more expansions.
If you want Blu-Ray compatibility, make sure you get the JAPAN version 110V, NOT the Asia version 220V or else you'll be SOL. Careful when buying on eBay, many sellers fail to mention that... but you'll notice the price for the Asia version is about $100 cheaper. No DVD capability on either though... games will work fine :)

The long awaited FF13 lighting bundle has finally come to stock. Sony did the right thing with taking away the piano black finish and redesigning the font for the ps3. This system feels extremely solid and well built, like most of Sony’s hardware. If you have yet to get a PS3, this is the time to jump on.

Good Upgrade
Sony has done a good job on creating the slim version of PS3. Well, this one will at least save your electricity cost. One thing is that, they dont include the HDMI cable inside the package :(

Great value
I missed out on buying the PS3 before, but now got the PS3 Slim, so my gaming life can begin again. Especially cool that the memory is 120GB -- you get 60 to 40 GB more for hundreds of dollars less, excellent.
