Brilliant An excellent point and click adventure, with some of the best ingame dialogue ever seen. The puzzles are logical, the story intriguing and the graphical style (think Aha's "Take on Me" video) sweet. A must have for any DS owner.

Hotel Dusk: Room 215 Think adventure game, and the hardcore gamer thinks of Monkey Island, Dreamfall, or more recently, the Phoenix Wright courtroom drama series. Next up on the list is Hotel Dusk: Room 215 - an adventure game that places you in a hotel full of mystery. You play an ex-cop turned travelling salesman-cum-detective named Kyle Hyde, who ends up in Hotel Dusk as part of his job. Like many other dogged and dedicated protagonists, a proper night's rest evades him as the game throws him into situations with shady characters and random occurrences. The story starts slow, almost unbearable so. Stick with it though, as the plot thickens after a while. Give this game a miss if you prefer action to a good story, and absolutely cannot stand reading in a game.
Hotel Dusk is as text-heavy as games can get on the DS - almost everything revolves around conversations. On the plus side, every character in the game is placed there for a reason, with well-developed backstories, too. All of them have a role to play in the grand scheme of things. Hotel Dusk forces you to hold the DS sideways, like a storybook. Quirky as this gets, the game is thankfully both left- and right-hand friendly. One gripe many people would have with the adventure genre - you can get stuck very easily, wandering through the hotel trying to find the one object that would advance the storyline.
Hotel Dusk compunds the problem, with little record of what you are supposed to do. There is a virtual notebook in the game, but it stores so little that you are better off keeping notes on real paper. Some people might compare this game with another text-heavy series on the DS - Phoenix Wright. Hotel Dusk offers a bit more freedom in exploration, though the frustration of not being able to find something increases proportionately too. Hotel Dusk: Room 215 continues the legacy of the once-popular adventure game, with an intricate storyline and strong character development. If you love a good interactive storybook, this title is for you.
