Excellent
Continue from the Basara 2. Personally prefer Basara over Dynasty Warrior and game play and combo. If you fan on Dynasty Warrior, try this on. You may love it!!!

Good expansion!
This new Sengoku Basara 2 game is cool ... now we can play with Kojiroh, the Masamune Date servant, that is very nice and some another new characters. I prefer the Sengoku Musou series but this game is very good too, with high combos that you can do! So, play and enjoy it!

Wonderfull
I have to say, this is just one awesome game! Basara 2 was indeed fun as heck and incredible, much better then the Samurai Warriors games, and Basara 2 Heroes is no less. It is a great expansion that gives you some nice additions. Nagamasa and Oichi are just a blast to use. (I enjoy the Basara 3 Oichi though more!). I haven't had a chance to touch the others but I know I won't be dissapointed.

Excellent Dynasty Warriors-esque game
Personally I enjoy this game more than some of the past Shin Sangoku Musou series. It feels more like an action title that teamed up with a straight up hack & slash title with a nice facepunch of style, which is exactly what this game was meant to be. I recommend this to anyone who likes games such as Dynasty Warriors.

nice expansion
The game adds a lot to Sengoku Basara 2. All the NPCs from the original are now playable (although there's a new NPC in this one), each with a short story mode, and some of the older characters get new (albeit short) story mode as well. There're new items and new titles. While character stats and titles carry over from SB2 if you have the save file, items/weapons/armors need to be earned/purchased again. It's harder to get high combo count in this one, so I recommend getting those titles in SB2 first. If you didn't get the personal items of the original characters, you can purchase them in the shop in this version, as you won't get the original story modes of those characters to unlock those items anyway.
Overall a great value. Being able to play as Katakura Kojuuro and Oichi is great. If you're a fan of SB2 and hungry for more, it's well worth the price.

The Hack and Slash game at it's finest. Catchy characters, excellent voice-acting, hundreds of enemies in each map do kill, great gameplay mechanics and customizeable characters. Dozens of hours of fun guaranteed!

Great Game
Fast-paced stylish action with some of the most famous names from Japanese historty brought to life as badass Anime characters. 30 playable characters new 2player mode makes this the best game in the series. Well worth buying.

Nice action game
Prior to this game. I have never any played Sengoku Barasa games. Once I started playing, I kept going on & on as I was intrigued with the stages & wanted to know how the bosses looked like. As a regular gamer & having played Dynasty Warriors series quite a fair bit, I must say that I prefer the graphics & style in Sengoku Barasa better. Great game. Can't wait for Sengoku Barasa 3.

Great action game
This all-action title is very enjoyable to play, has awesome graphics and very decent music! A must buy, if you like the hack'n slash genre.

Great hack n slash action game
This game is a great hack n slash type of game, similar to dynasty warriors. If you like dynasty warriors, you will surely like this as well. Sengoku Basara 2 Heros is a pretty decent improvement from Sengoku Basara 2. As others have mentioned, the "gaiden mode" is available. My only complaint about it is....there are too few characters you can select in gaiden mode, and each of their gaiden story chapters are very short.
On the positive side, they have tons of items/equipment you can unlock in the shop, and to make things easier, there is a "lottery" feature, where sometimes items gets discounts, or if you're VERY lucky, the item is even free.

Puts Dynasty Warriors to shame...
Honestly, I had never played a Sengoku Basara title before this one. I just got Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires and Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes puts that game to shame.
This game has lots of action, decent graphics (for PS2), cool opening music, TONS of modes and unlockables, RPG-like equip and level-up system/shop for upgrades, TONS of multiplayer modes, the list goes on and on. The sheer polish and extra content in this game REALLY makes Dynasty Warriors seem like a waste of time. And all for $30??? BUY IT

AWESOME!!
This game offers many characters, with several unlockable abilities, weapons, items, and suits for each individual character! 2-Player vs. mode, and 2-Player mode that allows players to team up and conquer Japan together during the Sengoku period, one player story, and much more! Truly the best hack'n slash game you'll find out there! If you enjoy this type of genre, this game will blow you away and keep you occupied so much you'll want to play it over and over again! Much faster, and much easier to maneuver than any other hack'n slash game available!

Makes an amazing game even better!
You can transfer over your data from SB2, which carries over your character levels, weapons, and personal items (sadly not gold or regular items).
You can also buy PIs for $30,000 if you didn't get them in SB2.
There are 8 new story modes (3 full and 5 short "gaiden" modes).
Of the 3 full stories (Kojuuro, Oichi, and Nagamasa), Oichi's stands out as the best, albeit the heaviest and darkest of the 3. It also has a unique credit sequence, with the song "Nemure Hi no Hana", sung by Oichi's voice actress.
The 5 gaiden stories (Yukimura, Masamune, Keiji, Motochika, and Kotaro Fuuma) aren't quite as interesting, but entertaining nonetheless (Yukimura's was actually quite funny).
Completing the story modes unlocks colour swaps for characters (their regular outfit, but with a different colour scheme).
There are even several multiplayer modes available. You can play co-op in Conquest or Tournament mode, as well as a few new vs. modes.
Tournament mode has also changed slightly. You can either choose to play with 2 players, or with one player using a team of 2 characters which you can swap between. This makes getting those legendary 8th weapons easier! And don't forget those 3rd armors!
Beating Tournament mode once unlocks Ultimate Tournament Mode, where every round has a time limit.
All in all, despite the fact that your regular items don't transfer over, and some items have been removed (mostly the ones the increase your hits), Sengoku Basara 2: Heroes is a great expansion pack to an already great game. A must have companion game to SB2!
List of newly playable characters:
- Kojuuro Katakura (Katana/wakizashi)
- Nagamasa Azai (sword and buckler shield)
- Oichi (naginata, can split into two)
- Kennyo Honganji (staff)
- Kotaro Fuuma (dual ninjato)
- Ujimasa Hojo (six pronged spear)
- Ieyasu Tokugawa (spear with ringed blade)
and the new NPC/antagonist, Hisahide Matsunaga.

BASARA HERO 2
This is better than SW DW. Better graphics, a nd game play and so many modes to play. You really could play that for a long time. It's an awesome game by Capcom.

5 stars, if you like the genre
As far as hack and slash games go Dynasty Warriors seems to be the top dog, although they could deffinately learn a few things from the Sengoku Basara series. This game does so many things right, the few it doesn't are quickly overlooked. If your into these kind of games just go ahead and pick this one up
