Great Game.
You you like action games. This is a good game for you. With nice and fast paced game play it delivers a nice experience. The history line is not the best, but the game play and the jokes compensate for it.

Fans of Suda51 rejoice!
This is another great game by that guy; it's toned down from his usual stuff and more "mainstream", but there's no mistake, this game is crazy fun.
The gameplay isn't groundbreaking, but is comfy and well done. The story is bad, but "so bad it's good" bad. The humor is off the wall and full of innuendos, it's a great game for a more mature player.
All in all, the whole thing seems to be a Tarantino movie in game format, really, there's no better way to describe it.
As a bonus point, fans of seinen manga will be glad to know that Q.Hayashida (Dorohedoro and Maken X) did some character design for this game, which is awesome!

Definitely Suda51's best to date; it does almost everything right, and the voice acting, music and humor are out of this world. Can't recommend it enough, and it's a shame that it wasn't marketed better and didn't receive the mass market attention that it deserves.

My only reproach is the absence of "New Game +", but still I feel like I'll be tempted to replay it some day.

One thing is a couple of chapters which has been replaced by really poor programmed 2D sequences where you fly around and shoot. Other than that it has a cool protagonist in a story that feel as much incomplete as full of phallus-jokes. Which is a good thing, aside from the incomplete part.

Yeah its funny and weird bla bla but what noone else has mentioned is the horribly frustrating controls and I rarely get annoyed with games. This game is DUMB and is the reason that every game should have a demo.

Weird, but good.
It's the kind of story / characters that people will either enjoy or find immature. I'm a fan of the Grasshopper developers so I'm quite happy to devour whatever they handout. The gameplay is solid, if at times easy and repetitive. Boss battles are fun as are the later puzzles. Music by Akira Yamaoka is spectacular.
This is a game that would make good use of PS Move as did RE5, but sadly this is neglected.
It's the kind of story / characters that people will either enjoy or find immature. I'm a fan of the Grasshopper developers so I'm quite happy to devour whatever they handout. The gameplay is solid, if at times easy and repetitive. Boss battles are fun as are the later puzzles. Music by Akira Yamaoka is spectacular.
This is a game that would make good use of PS Move as did RE5, but sadly this is neglected.

Standard game design but with Suda's touch
If you are familiar with RE4,5 and other 3rd person shooters, you'll be right at home with this game.
While the game may not surprise you in the game design aspects, rather unique setting, characters, music and juvenile humor will make it a worthwhile journey to take.

Mexican demons!!!!!
Wow.. This a classic if for its whole different approach to the norm shooter vibe, like Shadow-man and Devil May Cry with an A.I. partner that just a play-guide in a polygon flaming skull.. it is a fun though..

Too short
What's here is good, but the game is too short, too easy, and doesn't give a lot of incentive to replay. Still, it's fun, creative, weird, and funny, so I'd recommend it if you're long on cash.

This is an unusual shooter with different shooting controls,standard graphics.It has only a few weapons but you are able to upgrade them to become alot more powerful.you can also upgade your health and weapons in the pause menu.average variety of bad guys.Overall it is a quirky shooter,if looking for something different give it a go.

A cool albeit short trip
Fantastic game that is underrated IMO:
- interesting mechanics that involves escaping from darkness,
- several game modes, all of which are fun,
- cool boss fights,
- funny conversations and vulgar jokes.
Linearity is expected but could use a bit higher game difficulty and game length.

Great game
Shadows of the damned is a great effort from shinji mikami of resident evil fame and suda51 that created no more heroes. If you've played resident evil 4/ 5 and/ or no more heroes you know what to expect from this game. I give it 8/10

Dissapointed, very short game. Finished in 6 hours.
Still very crazy and highly original. Worth checking out.

Suda 51 is at it again
Coming off back to back play throughs of this game is saying something, now in recent reviews this game been under a bit of heat and honestly I can't figure out why.
The gameplay is tight and very enjoyable, a solid action adventure game that further develops the amazing RE4 mechanics. Involving light puzzle sequences and the light and darkness twist which helps from keeping the gameplay stagnant. It's linear but fun with frequent boss encounters. Alot of insult has been towards the script which in all honesty IS a corny B grade horror/action film script. It's hard to hate when the intention for this game is to be a cheesey grindhouse action filled romp through the underworld.
Suda 51 and Shinji Mikami make an awesome team and let's hope this isn't the last time they join forces.
