Monsters - the Twisted, that spawned in the far future devoured all the humans, and when they destroyed the whole earth, they spiral time backwards to the past to repeat the carnage. In 2012, the authorities created the Over Dive system, a weapon that could perhaps save the future and the past. However, there is only one person who's compatible with this technology - Aya Brea, the girl without a past.
Travel through time and eliminate the horde of Twisted. Take over the bodies of the people who inhabits the time frame to battle. The Over Dive system offers you one chance to turn the situation around when it reaches the full gauge, your attack power rises several times fold. But one mistake, you'll be gone, and the world will go with you.

Best Parasite Eve game to me so far.
Great game! With great FMV quality just like other Square Enix games, this game is fast-paced, has locking feature which really helps when you shoot the enemies, and lots of cool stuff like overdive system which allows you to enter an ally's body in time your life gauge dropped out or if you want to go to a very long distance without having to move all the way to the distance, including heights!
Fast, simple and rush your adrenaline!!! :)

It has a interesting plot that keeps you want to move on..but the ending was a shocker but a let down at the same time.gameplay is fast paced and exciting..but the highlight to me is really the music,it really build the atmosphere and fit the scene well..i enjoyed the game while it lasted,which is short by my standard...still its a great game on it own and is worth playing it if you consider yourself a gamer...

Great Adittion to any collection!

but it leaves a bit to be desired... combat is not very intuitive, and its clunkiness lead to a lot of cheap deaths. Story is ok. Like most contemporary square-enix games, what this title excels at are Visual and sound quality.

After almost 10 years,
we finally have the parasite eve title rebirth again on PSP,
combat fighting style change from RPG to more like a TPS,
of course,its much straightforward compare to before,but you might not like it if you prefer the old RPG style of PE and PE 2.

Interesting ideas let down by repetition and confusion
This game is fun to play in short bursts, any longer and the combat can get repetitive. Overdive works well to add a component of strategy to the battles.
There's lots to go back and replay (one reason for me was to understand the story).
As a fan of the first two this is a bit disappointing, though I am still looking forward to more.

The presentation and graphics for this have got to be the best I've seen for PSP. Great eye candy overall but the shooting mechanism while fun, gets old rather quickly, and it's not as addicting as say...games like Dissidia. And...for all the backlash on the story I heard, the datalog and back story are actually very decent (will require a lot of reading), though I can't comment on overall storyline since I haven't finished it yet.

Although I have never tried this series in other platforms, I think this is worth to play. Especially the new ability that has been created in this game called "Overdrive". It allows some NPCs in the game to be controlled. The main character( the female character) is quite beautiful and attractive which is one of the reasons that makes me want to purchase this game. Also, the main character is allowed to wear different types of costumes and take some types of weapons. I just wish that similiar ability such as "overdrive" can be used in other games to make them more fun.

The 3rd birthday has got to be one of the best games on the PSP so far. The graphics are excellent especially the cut scenes. The sound effects are good. A must for any one who has played the first two PE games. Although they said that it is not a direct sequel it does pick up from the end of PE2.

One of the best games available for the psp. Graphics are amazing and very easy to pick up and play with little to no knowledge of japanese. Menus are in english but descriptions are in japanese, this is where game guides are helpful.

I've owned a PSP for quite a while, but there hadn't been a game until this one that can actually keep me playing it for quite a while. Although the story is a bit short, the graphic quality is amazing considering it's on PSP. Overall, this is a very good game to get.

Its actually great to see a really good franchise being revived after so many years. The effort was good...but not enough to convince both fans and new players that it is a great game. However, the graphic and the gameplay should be praised for its creativity and freshnes. Nonetheless, the game's story is not up to par so is the scores. Great Game!!
This game even that it's for a portable, it's got gorgeous cgs and gameplay. The voice acting is very good, and so is the music. I got the First press, and the box is glossy, very nice! and i even got an Aya Brea special card! So, this game is a must have! ^^

Wonderful game
The 3rd Birthday is an awesome experience for fans of Aya Brea of the Parasite Eve series. Lots of cool events, cutscenes, and gameplay is super intense. Overall, awesome!

Best game I've ever played on the PSP. Play Asia will deliver it as fast as possible. It has more action then any other PSP game and has massive replayability.

square enix has done it again. the graphics in this game is absolutely amazing. its just like watching a PS3 game movie.
but this is not your ordinary shoot em up and blow them up game. you have to think fast of the situations and make sure your quick to same the other soldiers and civilians.
i do not know about the american version if they are going to get it or not but the japanese version that i got has a code in it to unlock aya's costume for the new dissidia duodecim final fantasy. nomura also said that he had an idea to have some sort of connection for the new kingdom hearts birth by sleep final mix but that got canceled.
this game is worth buying but the voice is in japanese so be careful for those who do not understand japanese

Beautiful handheld adventure
The game's all in Japanese, so as far as the story goes, you will be missing a bit if you can't follow the language, but the gameplay unfolds perfectly and all the basic stuff is in english to get you through the bulk of the good stuff.
