description
It's been two years since Jackie Estacado, now Don of the Franchetti crime family, used The Darkness to kill the men responsible for his girlfriend's murder. He's been unable to shake the memory of Jenny's death since bottling up his supernatural power and now The Darkness wants out. A sudden, unprovoked attack on Jackie's life heralds the start of a full-scale mob war which has clearly been orchestrated by some outside force. The botched attempt opens the door for The Darkness to reemerge, and sets Jackie on a journey to hell and worse as he unravels the mystery behind the attack and the motivations of The Darkness itself.

As you start the game you see the fun cartoonish graphics that's cool;) you will start seeing a lot of blood that's cool too;) And main storyline is awesome!And you also have the Vendettas mode(you can use 4 different characters to a different story On-Line or Off-line)5stars off course Thanks;)

First thing you will notice with The Darkness 2 is the look of the game. Its going for a more cartoony look to it. This surprisingly fits the gameplay of the game and makes it look pretty good at times. The gameplay of The Darkness 2 has changed a little bit from the first game. The gameplay is BLOODY. You rip enemies in half, rip heads off, throw objects at enemies, and even rip hearts out to gain health. You also use the Darkness to rip car doors off and use them as shields. You can even use the Darkling to kill enemies by kicking him into enemies. There are also sections where you play as him and it is also good bloody fun.

An Above-Average Sequel
Though the game's still fun to play with great interfaces and graphic system, the story line somehow deteriorates (seems like the producer has run out of ideas about how to continue the plot). Nevertheless, think less of it & you'll enjoy this sequel!

Pretty Darn Good, but the Comic-like Cel-Shading was a REAL EFFING TURN-OFF
It was enjoyable, and the story-line overall was great. The gameplay mechanics and controls was improved a great deal over the first one (although some may disagree). The ending gave a hint that there's more to come.
My 2 issues with this game was:
1. Play-through hours were not as long as the first one...I finished the game in like 5-6 hours...
2. Cel-Shading for a dark setting was just effing pointless! I felt like the whole animation/cartoon shading was an insult to the The Darkness. Yes it looks OK, but is somewhat irrelevant here.

Sequel Worthy
So the first game brought a lot of fond memories, the fact that you can watch characters watching a full movie within a game where your character sits down and watches a full movie whilst you sit down and watch the movie with them and watching them watching it and you watching the same thing. It's what got me thinking about this game, this version had alot more cartoony feel to it, not sure if I prefer it more than the realistic approach the first title was going for .....

love the first game. Love the sequel even more!! You can do alot more in this sequel. The game doesnt take long to finish but the whole journey is enough to warramt a purchase especially in play-asia since it's cheaper.

MUCH better than the first one.
I thought the 1st Darkness game was sloppy. The controls were a mess and just not that much fun. I really enjoyed it this time around. I feel EVERYTHING was better balanced. You have 2 darkness arms. This time around you are kinda "forced" to use your real arms and guns, in conjunction with your darkness arms. In the 1st game I just didn't feel it was very balanced that way. this time it is. They work very well together. I will say this game is short. I finished it in two sittings. But unlike many other game I actually wanted to play through it again almost immediately. There is a really cool online mode, but I couldn't find anyone online. BUT you can play most of the mission by yourself. They offer a little more game play, story, and different characters. This game is far from the best shooter out there, but its better than the last one, and if you can pick it up for a good price it well worth one or two playthroughs that's for sure.

I didn't expect much from the sequel at first, but the art style and a bit more straight forward action game design made this a fun shooter alternative.
It's not a classic by any means, but for those who liked the Darkness will find plenty to like here as the new art style suits the comic book origins of the game.
