The Macross series is one of the most important milestones in the development of animation. Everything starts when Macross, a massive city in the galaxy comes under the alien's attack. The young Valkyrie pilot Ichijou Hikaru meets the singer and top idol Lynn Minmei. The wars between the humans and the invaders complicates the relationship between the lovers. Ichijou finds his affection shifting from the innocent but in times selfish Minmei to the more grown-up and confident Misa. The war and the romance inspire a lot of music. The series has a lot of classic songs that anime fans old and new will enjoy.
