The second installment in the RPG saga of the Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, features a thoroughly engrossing, mature storyline defining new standards for thought-provoking, non-linear game narration. In addition to an epic story, the game features an original, brutal combat system that uniquely combines tactical elements with dynamic action. A new, modern game engine, responsible both for beautiful visuals and sophisticated game mechanics puts players in the most lively and believable world ever created in an RPG game. A captivating story, dynamic combat system, beautiful graphics, and everything else that made the original Witcher such a great game are now executed in a much more advanced and sophisticated way.

Great RPG
The Witcher 2 is a unique RPG building on Eastern European folklore and fantasy. It's a pretty looking 3rd person game with challenging but satisfying combat. It has a great story that offers divergent narrative and gameplay dependent on choices made within the game. You WILL want to play through twice!
It contains some genuinely mature themes (racism, bigotry for one) which is very refreshing. It's also nice to play an RPG as a fixed character but with lots of player choice as to how they behave.
Well worth your time and money.

A WRPG masterpiece
It's all.
This game, without exageration equivales a Chronno cross or a Xenosaga in terms of WRPG.
Goog story, skils tree, options in moral and funny battle system.
It all a RPGamer can ask and this game deliver it godly.

Meh
If you've never played "the witcher" you might feel out of place in this world. I know I do. Graphics are great, but the tutorial is severely lacking in my opinion. Your spells require you to recognize the shapes or their placements right off the bat. The control setup seems much more complicated than it needs to be. When one button could have easily been mapped for multiple options in different scenarios.

Great game
One of the best games of the year. Play it on PC if you can, but if you don't have a rig capable of playing it, you can't go wrong with the 360 version.

Dragon Age 2... sorry... I mean The Witcher 2...
This game has an interesting story, but the actual game mechanics are quite poor in my opinion. Moving feels awkward and I rarely feel immersed in the world. For example, having to get to a meeting point on a map I was unable to to go any way I liked. I couldn't swim, I couldn't, jump over small rocks, I couldn't go through the trees... I HAD to stick to the path! Of course, there were conveniently placed 'random' bandits waiting. Boring.
Climbing rocks and dropping down is all done via the 'A' button. Basically, this is a game that holds your hand and gives you (false) freedom to move around in a small box rather than just giving you the world and saying... "Well, there you go. Do what you want."
The story is interesting, but it is badly narrated by some, below-average, teenage comedian which entirely destroys the idea that this is some grim, epic, adventure. I just wish I had the opportunity to turn him off. Just like I wish I could head out into the world and explore without being pushed to go where the game wants through limited choice.
Despite this, I feel the graphics are decent and the changing of time is very well handled and not overly fast as in some other games. The menus are slick even if a little frustrating to navigate at times, but being a PC port that has been done well enough.
All in all, The Witcher 2 is a game that reminds me very much of the "Dragon Age" series, particularly DA:2. If you prefer the complete freedom of say "The Elder Scrolls" series then this may be a little disappointing.

Witcher 2
Not a bad game, the random crashing during the first town beyond the tutorial level is bugging me to no end (pun intended).
I have read that it has a deep engrossing story, I hope to one day find out.

The Witcher 2
Fun game, engrossing story. Docked it a star because the visuals and acting are a bit on the bad side. Still a thoroughly enjoyable experience -> I am playing through it again :)
