- In the vein of "Cross Edge", Trinity Universe combines the Atelier and Disgaea universes into a massive RPG mashup
- Two different scenarios. A "Goddess" side featuring Gust characters and a "Demon Lord" scenario with NIS stars
- The first time popular Disgaea characters Etna, Flonne and Prinny are presented in full 3D
- Fully customize your character and weapons. Depending on how you decorate it the ability and strength will change
- Combat skills are assigned to three different action buttons. Input a set sequence to deal more damage. Magic blasts, weapon strikes, and ground shaking blows can be performed by one champion or by the entire team
- Time is also an important element in Trinity Universe. Players have to destroy a gravitation field and escape a dungeon before time runs out

Not what i expected, but BETTER!
I considered buying this game over a year now, now that i've finally got it I can say that it is a really good game, battle system works great, the story is really funny, because they only make fun of each other.
so if I need to rate this game it would be like this:

that's my opinion, I don't regret buying this game thou.

This game is not for everyone, as I see a lot of people in the West simply not enjoying it unless they're interested in Asian media. For those who are, it's a nice variety of characters in another comical romp of a JRPG.

If you really want another strategy game...
If you LOVE the NIS characters or if you've run out of strategy games to play, this can be fun. But it is at times frustrating and a flawed experience overall. Depends on the price.

i bought this game because ive heard that Neptunia's gameplay was based off of this game. t found this game to have the same monsters, similar dungeons, and similar VN style. i found the gameplay to be better from this game. i was pretty satisfied with this game.

Disappointing
Was unfortunately very disappointed with this. The game is mostly a continuous series of fights in boring dungeons (which you have to visit time and time again to do lots of grinding) and - admittedly, at times funny - cut scenes.
The difficulty level is also very annoying. You can be level 30 and breezing through a dungeon with level 20 enemies only to run into a boss fight and still get totally annihalited in 2 turns. Not fun.
So, all in all, disappointing.

It may turn a bit tedious sometimes, but it's an overall nice game to spend a few hours, the story and art are quite appealing and should keep you tagged along with the simple but easygoing gameplay it's got

Trinity Universe, though it has a linear story line, there is still plenty to do in it. Also though you are constantly hunting through dungeons it doesn't have the repetitive feel to it that most games get. If your hunting the Trophies it will take you a while to unlock them all and some of them are real annoying to obtain, for the hardcore trophy hunters this will be a breeze compared to most other hardcore games. Even though the stories are fairly linear, you still have optional characters to unlock, 3 possible endings, and you can play as either of 2 characters, which when you finish the game you can then choose to play as the other, keeping your equipment and choosing from 2 harder difficulties.
Not to mention the multiple references to other games and shows, there is enough comedy in the cinematics that removes the boring 2 minutes of conversations of events.
Due to these unique aspects of the game, this game will not suit everyone, though if you take the time to play it, you will most likely enjoy it enough to play through it at least 2 times.

A nice addition to a collection of few nice RPGs on the PS3.While not great in the likes of FF13,Trinity Universe is still a fun game to play.combat does tend to get boring but hey,there are tons of items and stuffs to collect that u will soon forget about fighting monotony and look forward to items to collect.
This time my game case came lil bit crippled though.Too bad if that happened during shipment and that would definitely undermine my future use of Fedex for the purchase.But,many thanks to Playasia.Another advice,wait for the price to go down a bit before purchasing as the game is not worth the money u have to pay right now:p

Eccentric cast's love of violence is infectious. Good battle flows seamlessly once mastered. Multiple character upgrades are both powerful & really fun.
Bland dungeons can be a drag after awhile though. A number of objectives seemed all to similar.

Great game for fans of games nippon ichi, idea factory, gust. Its multy universe with 2 stories, with multiple charachters. Lots of place of to discaver, finding treasure, create wepon and monsters. Quite cute and fun stories. Truly recomend to all fans of Jrpg!!!

If you were craving some more JRPGs on PS3, this one would be a good game to try out. It doesn't go out itself to reinvent itself as it has all the positive AND the negatives of 'average' JRPG.
Game does support more sharp and detailed artworks due to HD nature of the console.
If you are new to the genre, there are better titles to try out. If you are looking to play something after having played all the options out there, it's worth a try.

I have no idea why Idea Factory games get such a bad reception in foreign reviews. I'm a gaming journalist myself and I love their products - Agarest, Cross Edge, you name it. Trinity Universe is another one I'm very impressed by - it's a unique beast set in a strange universe with equally strange space junk, fridges, cows, you name it, it's there.
Characters are represented in full with fluid 3D animation while in dialogue scenes they're represented by sprites with exaggerated expressions.
The situations play to each styles strengths - character attacks look impressive, while the sprites carry dialogue and expressions well.
Navigating the universe is done primarily via the menu system - events will progress the story, but be careful when progressing as one event could lead to a boss fight you aren't prepared for.
All up I'd recommend this title - and anything Idea Factory has released - to anyone looking for a great PS3 RPG.

It has a battle system that reminds you of Xenogears and it is a nice attempt for 3D models from NIS. While like most other cross-overs the story is a tad shallow, but it has good characters and plenty of quests to do.

This game is pretty much for anyone who really liked Cross Edge. Trinity U is pretty much an improved version as well. The 3D graphics might be an unwanted change for many NIS fans, but those truly devoted will eventually move past the graphics and see the overall appeal of this game.

This cross over based on NIS, Gust and !F character. But this project isn't hardcore like a Disgaea or another game from NIS. Good battle mechanic, nice humor, cute character but 3d graphic like a cheap project in PS2.

While there is nothing groundbreaking or even impressive about the title, it still manages to be quite the capable RPG by its great mix of fun and interesting characters, battle system, and rewarding quests.
Worth the buy if you're looking for a sound RPG, slightly similar to X-Edge but executed far better.

One of the Best Crossover RPGs yet
Compared to Chaos Wars and X-edge this is one of the most fun and enjoyable crossover RPG I have played yet.
The battle system is still abit complicated with stuff you hardly use or require to use to defeat the enemy. At the end of the day all you need to do is powerlevel abit and any boss can be defeated without using any complex battle mechanics. Still it is no where near as confusing as the X-edge battle system but more similar to Xenogears one.
The use of 3D models during the cutscenes are nice but serve not much purpose and unless you look closely you can hardly tell they are even 3D models.
Overall still a fun but shallow RPG for fans of the Nipponichi or Gust characters. However I wouldn't recommend it to other hardcore RPG players as there is nothing in this game which you can't find elsewhere.
Compared to Chaos Wars and X-edge this is one of the most fun and enjoyable crossover RPG I have played yet.
The battle system is still abit complicated with stuff you hardly use or require to use to defeat the enemy. At the end of the day all you need to do is powerlevel abit and any boss can be defeated without using any complex battle mechanics. Still it is no where near as confusing as the X-edge battle system but more similar to Xenogears one.
