Xbox 360 Regional coding list

This list is to be a guide for those who own an Xbox 360 system from another territory. As of the tight supply situation, many Xbox 360 units are not used in the territory they are initially sold. Yet, many countries have not been seen a release and such it's important to know which games would work on which console.

As indicated in yesterday's news report, many US games are in fact manufactured without regional lockout.

Explanation: Region-free means that a game disc can be played on any Xbox 360 console worldwide. Manufacturers may or may not decide to lock their game discs to a specific region. If a game disc is code-free, it will work on any machine. If a game is not region-free, it will only work for the console that it is intended to use for. In case of US Games, that would be a US Console, in case of Japanese Games, that would be a Japanese Console.

It seems, unfortunately, all japanese games so far are region coded. We were not able to acquire stock for all games, the situation may change if we have more games to test. Good news is, however, that the japanese versions of Ridge Racer 6 and Perfect Dark Zero offer complete english text and voice if run on a japanese Xbox 360 system set to english language.

Most games were tested in our hardware lab, however, since this list also contains tests from individuals from the internet we can not take any responsibility for the correctness of above list.
