The perfect flight combat game.
One of the best game in the series since AC3: Electrosphere one PS1, the original gameplay, epic battles, great graphics. There are two sides, the classic side, AC: Aces of Liberations being the best installment, and the modern side, starting with Assault Horizon. I'm fighting for classic, and you, where are you?

Passable
This game does have very good graphics, watching the afterburners kick in does look awesome. The planes handle well and there is a wide selection of them that you can (in-game) buy.

However all this is let down by an absolutly god awful story line. The story is told mainly from the perspective a woman whose husband was a pilot shot down in the first few days of the war and whose child is missing pressumed dead. We are apparently supposed to care about her but are given no reason to.

The script is clunky and while it may sound good in Japanese the translation doesn't work. Imagine grown men telling their interrogators "Go dance with the angels!" and then not recieving the beating of their life. Go dance with the angels is the game's catch phrase and it is annoying by the second time you hear it.

The missions are also very long requiring you to fullfill many different roles, in one mission you can be expected to perform interdiction, wild weasel, close air support, strike and maintain CAP.

This is by no means a simulation this is an arcade game. Firing off hundreds of missiles per mission, hanging around above SAM sites while they don't blow you out of the sky and ridiculosly large air carriers.

Good graphics, bad story, good controls, bad gameplay.

Also the menus suck.
