Great typing teaching game!
This game is definitely something different. I would say that this is probably the best typing teacher game, even better than those old Mario Teaches Typing games for Apple. Absolutely no Japanese is required in this game. The way this game works is that it is designed to teach Japanese people how to type using an English keyboard with Pokemon Japanese names written in Ronamji. This is also a great typing instructor for non-Japanese players too because most Americans do not know all the Pokemon names in Japanese, so they can't just type the names from memory.

Basically, the more you progress, the faster the Pokemon appear and you need to type their names quicker to catch them. The less mistakes you make, the more points and medals you get. If you are very fast and can catch all the Pokemon, you get a medal and a boss battle at the end. If you do this flawlessly, you get the gold medal.

You progress by navigating a keyboard that is like the world map and more stages unlock as you beat the older ones. One plus side of this game is that you do not need to use the keyboard, you can just use the touchscreen. So if your batteries die, you cantell the game not to use the keyboard, and you can continue playing. The keyboard will also work with almost any wireless device compatible with keyboards since this is a Linux keyboard that will work on Windows.

Worth your money as a adult, despite being for kids
First, let's get the obvious out of the way.
This is a game designed to help children in Japan learn to type, or type better. It's VERY simple at first, but as the game goes on, it gets harder and harder. So hard, an expert typist will have trouble even getting a Bronze metal.

One odd thing is that, even though it's using Pokemon names, it doesn't use the copyrighted names. Instead, it uses Nihon-shiki romanization.
For example, Zorua is the same in English and Japanese, but in the game they spell it Zoroa.
(I, personally, do not understand why this is, but maybe some Japanese people might know why they did this)

The major things about this game isn't even the game itself. It comes with it's own Bluetooth keyboard. Meaning you can be playing this game, then switch to using the Keyboard on your iOS device or even your PS3.
Do keep in mind that this IS a Japanese keyboard, and the layout is slightly different. All the letters are in the same place, it's just all the minor stuff that's switched around.

I do enjoy this game and find it a good way to both, learn the names of Pokemon in Japanese, and be able to learn some Kana.
It's worth your money and you won't be sorry, especially with that Keyboard.

Fantastic DS peripheral!
A great package with a fantastic peripheral. However, if you don't know your Pokémon by sight, you will be SOL for the gold medal!

Now we just need Sega to release "The Typing of the Dead" for the DS and make use of this great peripheral! PLEASE SEGA, PLEASE!!!

A really great Christmas present
I don't think this game will be sold one day in France, so it's a really big opportunity to be able to play it. The game interface is understandable, even for the one who don't know a word in Japanese, and the keyboard works well, even on my Mac and iPad ^^
Buy it, and you won't regret it, it's a valuable investment !
