description

Romance is in the air in the world of magic and swords. Lilith is a novice priestess in the shrine of Dodona. She lives a rather peaceful life with her fairy and remains innocent of the strives that go on in her world until she meets the holy knight Nayuta and the mercenary soldier Kirite.

Nayuta will do anything for his religion while Kirite swore to protect Lilith from every harm. Besides the two men, there is a whole cast of colorful characters in the dangerous world outside, voiced by famous seiyuu such as Sakurai Yukihiro and Kishi Daisuke.

In her journey, Lilith learns one thing. Love is what saves everything.

A beginner-friendly Visual Novel!
This was my first proper play of a Visual Novel on PS3 (I've played many on PC, however) and I have to say I was blown away - the story in this game is extremely engaging and had I the chance to play it from start to finish I would. There's 19 endings in total to get in this game (2 for each male protagonist and 7 bad endings) and one run would take from 20-22 hours to complete. The game, as mentioned in Aeliana's review, has many 'RPG elements' intertwined in the the game, such as overworld maps, character select, character stats (which impact the endings) and each of the protagonists represents a 'character class' inspired from RPGs of some sort (Nayuta is the knight, Lilith is the healer, Nate is the archer, and so on). The story feels exactly like something that jumped right out of a J-RPG. It's a breath of fresh air in the Visual Novel world and if you've imported before and want to try something new, or are just about to jump into the world or importing, BEYOND THE FUTURE - FIX THE TIME ARROWS - is an excellent place to start!

A Pleasant Surprise
I haven't historically been a huge fan of Otome VNs, but I *am* a huge fan of 5pb. That said, I didn't know what to expect from Beyond the Future: Fix the Time Arrows at the time when I ordered it, but my experience was nothing short of a pleasant surprise; the characters, music, and the medieval fantasy vibe to it were well done and it literally felt like a Visual Novel adaptation of a J-RPG. A few friends and I even dubbed it "Shining Force: The Visual Novel," as anyone who enjoyed Shining Force 1 & 2 on the Sega Genesis and/or Shining Force 3 on the Sega Saturn should notice a lot of similarities in their presentations. Definitely recommended to anyone who's willing to try something different!
