fairly good game
I've played both the single player and multiplayer components of the game and think that it's quite fun overall. Throw in the 'zombies mode' for a bit more variety, although nothing much is new here either.
The focus would be on the multiplayer, but I don't find it as thrilling as e.g. MW3 or Battlefield 3 although the customization is excellent. If you don't wish to pit your skills online yet, you could also opt to spar against in-game bots which are surprisingly lethal and would pose a reasonable challenge.
So, I'd say - yes, just go for it.
