A great game for Ar Tonelico fans
As usual, Akira Tsuchiya is a madman who's not afraid to make wacky games set in wacky worlds.

Fair warning to start - you really want to come into this with at least an Intermediate understanding of Japanese. There are two reasons for this-

#1: The story can be hard to follow from context alone. The game is almost entirely text-driven. The only imagery you get for most events is facial expressions and a static background. The language in the story sections can be very complex, especially when Kanon speaks. Mercifully, even Ion struggles to understand it, and will usually restate what Kanon is talking about in simpler terms.

#2: Half the joy of the game is in your day-to-day interactions with Ion. These are just simple "around the house" chats about all kinds of things, like your favorite foods, or the difference between your worlds, or her love of Vacuum Tubes (真空管に興味があるの?).

Now if you do have a good foundation in the language, the daily life part is a great opportunity to pick up lots of useful vocabulary through practical repetition. If you're already much better than me, then you can still enjoy Ion's charm and enthusiasm over simple day-to-day tasks.

The story itself features several characters from Ar No Surge - you'll meet a young Casty in the very first story chapter, for example - but is mostly focused on Ion's background and motivations. I'll avoid spoilers, but know that the world of Ion's past is not a pleasant one, and it falls to you to help her remember that for better or worse.

Despite the dire circumstances of the story setting, there are some really nice high points as well. Ion makes great friends and you get to see some awesome hymns performed with all the story relevance and emotional context to make the scenes that much more impactful.

Possibly the most interesting and annoying thing is the Real World Time aspect (it seriously takes Ion an hour of RL time for a bath?), but mercifully the Offline version allows you to Advance time at your convenience by spending HymP. This currency is hard to come by early on, but you'll have plenty to spare by chapter 3 or so, provided you don't go too crazy upgrading your Sharl ;)

great game
you remember the Ciel Nosurge when it first came out on the Vita? Well that game you constantly had to be connected to the internet to actually enjoy the game which made people have the impression that it was a social game. This one is the offline version of it with additional content. It contains all of the DLC, and the contents that required connection to the internet unlocked.

Very Unique Game.
This is a very different kind of RPG But it is still a great game that has a great story, as well as great music. If your a fan of the Ar Tonelico series. Then you should definitely get this great game.

great, and unique game.
This game is one of the most original games that I have ever played. If you are a fan of the Ar Nosurge or the Ar Tonelico games. Then this game is a must buy. The music is also wonderful as well.
