I played it short, it was ssssoooooooo boooooring! Everyday its the same. And after one year (in the game) my gamecube just stops it there!!! Is it my gamecube or the game?
I just waisted my money on this...should have better bought Naruto hero 3!

harvest moon: a wonderfully terrible dissapoinmtent
I\'ve owned harvest moon for several months now, and I\'m finding it to be quite a draw. I\'ve lost interest in it, finding it rather hard to water crops, and do a days work, since the clock is always ticking. it leaves you little time to wander around town. ive missed several festivals due to this.

once my first cow stopped giving milk, i sold it and got some sheep. when a game is as long as it is, you shouldnt have to wait years before you can milk your cow again. it has certainly swayed my faith in the harvest moon series.

i guess that\'s what the new games are all about; all flashy graphics and no real gameplay.

Harvest Moon no more
As a fan of the HM series when I heard this game was coming out I was over joyed. I had to have it as soon as possible and see what it looked like.

Much to my dismay this game is horrible. The graphics are great, the music is boring along with most of the game itself. Why?

1) Only three girls to marry. Three very uninteresting girls you MUST marry in a year. No choice, no freedom, it\'s either marry or game over.
2) You marry and have a child with her, great. But neither of them help you AT ALL. Nothing, they don\'t come to talk to you first, give you presents and rarely show they care. Your wife acts more like a room mate.
3) Everyone else in town is dull and boring. And pretty easy to make like you. Once they like you, they say the same thing over and over again.
4) Not enough change. The game\'s key point is that everything ages and such. But barely anyone moves in or out of town, no one else gets married around you and only one person dies. That\'s it.
5) No festivals. One of my favorite parts of Harvest Moon games are the festivals. A fun time to interact with your fellow townspeople, enjoy a day and show off your skills at cooking/raising animals or whatever. None, at all. There is a Harvest Festival but it\'s stupid.
6) Sprites do nothing to help and basically have no point in the game.
7) No Harvest Goddess. Witht the graphics they have in this game it would have been nice to see what she would have looked like.
8) Very slow game. After a few chapters you\'ll have all the money you need and nothing to do. Since your house is auto-upgraded you can\'t buy that, can\'t buy much of anything after a while. Every day is the same, over and over again.
9) Cooking is horrible in this game!! You can\'t save recipes into a book which means you either have to have a guide up or remember them all. You gain \"cooking levels\" which yeah, makes sense but wasn\'t pulled off correctly.
10) Money is easy to get once you figure it out. Crops are useless.

Good parts?
1) Graphics are beautiful.
2) Time flows, you and the town ages.
3) You can interact with your child and watch him grow into a young man.
4) Different cow types. Realistic way to milk. (Cows will only give milk after they\'ve had a calf.)
5) New goat and ducks added.

So yeah, that\'s all I can think of at the moment. Either way, this game is a disgrace to the HM series I feel.

Harvest Moon A wonderful Life: Is it so
I have played almost every harvest moon game there is in the US, and I have to say this one really dissapoints me. Its nice, I like the looks of it, and the new people are interesting and fresh, and a new town is even nicer. The game starts of pretty nice, you already have a cow, you get your horse soon in the game and you don\'t have to wait to ride it, and its not to terribly hard to get gold.
But then it wears down, doing the exact same thing day after day after day, no breaks what so ever. There are only three girls that you can choose from to be your Bride, and they aren\'t the greatest in the first place. Then you have to wait till the very end of the year to get married! Which is not so nice when you get engaged by the end of spring, seeing as its easy to win them over. Your cow will eventually stop giving milk, leaving it to be pointless till it has its next calf, and then you have to wait till the calf is off the milk so you can milk her. Crops only have one produce, then wilts, and the produce\'s prices are low, leaving you to a loss a lot of the time. The TV is pretty pointless, the weather channel is confusing, and often wrong; and the other channels are pointless. The one channel that may of been a nice break skips in episodes or leaves you off, completely clueless as to what happened.
The hardest part in my eyes is that there are practically NO holidays! For me the holidays are a big thing, and when I bought this game I couldn\'t wait to get on and check out the new holidays I would soon get to experiance. You don\'t even get a proper wedding if I remember correctly, at the end of the year you go over to get your bride to be, then it skips a few years or so, and you come back to your farm with a slightly bigger house (which I might add is very nice, especially after your older one), and your wife holding your new son. I do though like the son, because he often talks to you, and you can pick him up to love on him, much different from the other harvest moon games I have played.
And the linking to the GBA game, its soooo confusing!!! It was nothing like I thought, I thought you would be able to travel to the GBA game\'s town and interact with the people there, or at least get some new people or something neat along those lines, but in my eyes it was a complete rip off! You link, and it terminates it everytime, saying there is nothing new, or just canceling, and nothing new ever happens. (I might be having glitches for all I know though, but I haven\'t been able to find a single thing online over the linking...)
I like the game because its is of course a Harvest Moon game, but then again I seriously dislike it, because of its great lacking. The creators need to get their acts together again and make them amazing and overly detailed like they used to, because that is what always made these Harvest Moon games so great. Right now if they came out with another Harvest moon game I would be sure to rent it first so as to not be so dissapointed if I feel like I have wasted my money again, though I do hope they do come out with a new one, a better and more detailed one.

PSX one was better...
This game was okay, I liked it at first, I\'ve played the other Harvest Moon games and I thought this one was all right. I wish they would have spent more time on it, though. Here\'s why:

-It seems like the television is useless other than to get the weather (in the PSX version you could use the shopping channel or get hints)

-There aren\'t many people in the town to talk to, there are many more than in the crappy PS2 version, and the GBC version, but not as many as before.

-The biggest disappointment: ONLY 3 girls to choose from to marry? WHAT? And you have to marry her the first year. I thought that was stupid.

-The Harvest Sprites are useless and do nothing but explain things to you and help you name new animals. You used to be able to give them gifts and hire them to help you work.

-No events or festivals. That sucks. The minigames? You can play a chinese checkers like game in one guy\'s house. I ran into ONE, ONE other minigame during my chara\'s whole life. It was a milk-drinking game. You punched the X button as fast as you could. Big deal! They can do better than that...

-There\'s no store you can shop at. A merchant shows up in town every month. But he doesn\'t sell anything useful. You buy the brush from him and you can buy medicine. That\'s it. Later he sells some toys you can get to give your kid. Nothing fun or important. No cooking ingredients or anything.

-The cooking system sucks. All you have is your veggies, milk, and eggs. No salt, sugar, etc. I think they want you to trade with a GBA so they leave it so you can\'t cook much without doing so. That\'s stupid.

Anyway... the graphics area big improvement from the PS2 version, but it felt to me like if they had spent more time adding details the game would have remained interesting longer. Your life is pretty much the same each time and so... not much replay value. I recommend getting the Harvest Moon: Back to Nature for the PS... more stuff to *do*.
