Great puzzle game
Illust Logic is nothing like Picross, but great in its own way. There are no cute themes when filling in the squares, or downloadable features.

Pros: when a line is filled in, it marks it complete.
No hints. Lots of puzzles. Color mode. Rank mode. Gain points when you complete a puzzle under a certain time.

Cons: Tiny screen - everything is squished in.

Other: not too challenging so you can finish a puzzle relatively quick, about 1-15 min depending on the puzzle. Great for the commute, or waiting in line for something.

Overall I love this game and wish there was a second one coming out.

No title
The only major flaw in this game is that the puzzles are not very challenging. Also, I do not believe the game has any wifi or downloadable abilities.

However, the controls are excellent, even better than that of Picross DS. There are 400 puzzles total, 100 of which are color puzzles. Color picross are great fun, requiring a different set of--or really, an expansion on--the logic rules used for the game.

The rest of the puzzles are monochrome, but 85 of them are "composite" puzzles (for lack of a better word). Each composite puzzle forms only part of a larger picture; you don't see the larger picture until you have successfully cleared all the puzzles that make up the larger picture (of course!). There are 10 large pictures that are made up of 4 puzzles (2x2) and 5 large pictures that are made up of 9 puzzles (3x3).

This is a Hudson title, and many of the puzzle solutions depict Hudson sprites and characters. This game allows for 3 separate save files. There are three bland BGMs which can be accessed from the start menu (when in a puzzle, press start+A) and ultimately 25 background images (5 bgs, 5 colors; when in a puzzle, press start, A up on the D-pad, A).

Knowing Japanese is unnecessary for playing this game. The menus can be confusing but you can learn them a little at a time. Menu layouts have a logic to them--the first menu option almost always takes you forward (this game is no exception). If you get somewhere you don't want to be, remember that B is 'cancel' or 'back' (or it will take your cursor to the 'no' option), A is confirm (or will take your cursor to the 'yes' option), and start pauses and unpauses.
