In Your Distant Vicinity
Try as you might, it is hard to fault the effervescent and likeable professional swimmer-turned artiste, Alex Fong Lik Sun. Currently hosting the popular TVB cooking programme titled Kitchen Beauties, he has had a steady string of pop albums and visible roles on TV and the big screen since being talent-spotted in 2001. His latest Cantonese album, In Your Distant Vicinity, reportedly boasted a bigger budget and a stronger A&P campaign, thanks to singer Miriam Yeung\'s departure from the Gold Label he is signed to. His strength and popularity lie in karaoke-friendly love ballads and mid-tempo pop ditties, and he continues to capitalise on these aspects on this album, which has generated stellar sales in Hong Kong and South-east Asia. Helmed by the who\'s who in the Hong Kong music production scene such as Gary Chan and Mark Lui, the album offers a fine selection of quality Canto tunes such as Empress, A Bad Good Lover, Bitter First And Sweet Afterwards, as well as the Mandarin closing cut, Whatever You Want.
