TheCore i5-6600K 3.5 GHz Quad-Core ProcessorfromIntelis the sixth generation of the Core i5 product line that is now built using Skylake architecture. This processor features a base frequency of 3.5 GHz and, as with many Skylake technologies, it comes with features such as Intel Turbo Boost 2.0. With Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technology, the maximum clock rate this processor can achieve is 3.9 GHz. Additionally, this processor also features four cores with four threads in a FCLGA1151 socket and has 6MB of Intel Smart Cache memory. Having four cores allows the processor to run multiple programs simultaneously without slowing down the system, while the four threads allow applications to complete tasks sooner by working in parallel. This processor also supports up to 64GB of DDR4-2133/1866 MHz and DDR3L 1600/1333 MHz RAM, has integrated Intel HD Graphics 530, and has SSE 4.1/4.2 & AVX 2.0 Extensions, as well as AES New Instructions.
This Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5 GHz Quad-Core processor is well suited for users who are interested in general-use tasks, such as Internet browsing, checking E-mail, document creation and editing, and multimedia playback, as well as more intensive tasks that are able to benefit from overclocking. This processor is also unlocked, meaning that it can be overclocked past its maximum turbo frequency and since this is the "K" version of this processor, it can be overclocked to run faster than the non-K version.
