description

Ip Man [107 Minutes]:

There are a large number of martial arts masters emerging between 1930s and 1940s and Ip Man is one of them. As Bruce Lees' master and the first to start teaching Wing Chun openly, Ip Man has led a turbulent life and the film looks into the challenges that he has faced during his youth.

From meeting and fighting fellow martial artists before the war broke out to fighting in life and death situations with Japanese officials under unfair circumstances, Ip never lost his cool and adhered to the moral teachings of his school.

Produced under the critical eyes of Ip Man's own descendants, and starring the action star Donnie Yen (Seven Swords, Hero), this film reeks of excitement, realistic but stylized fight scenes and famous stars.

Ip Man 2 [109 Minutes]:

During the Sino-Japanese War, Ip Man (Donnie Yen) protected the dignity of Chinese by his wushu (Martial art). As he had beaten the Japanese army and mode them mad, he had to escape. After the war, the family lived in Foshan and experienced hardship. Ip therefore went to Hong Kong to start a new page with his family in 1949.

Ip's family arrived Hong Kong. Fortunate enough to have Leung Kan (Pierre Ngo), the chief editor of a newspaper, lending his roof to him for leaching Wing Chun there. A young man Wong Leung (Huang Xiao Ming) gathered a few of his boxing friends and asked Ip to be their master. Ip then had his first group of pupil.

Great!
I will say that I am a little upset that the price for this movie boxed set dropped as much as it did in such a short amount of time....so I very much dislike that. The movie itself is great. Both of them. I saw Ip Man 2 in theaters 2 weeks prior to ordering from here. The movies arrived very quickly.....impressive shipping to say the least.

Great boxset
The box set is value for money and comes in a single BD case with slipcover (as seen on the P-A image). I also believe that the boxset may be limited ed; so get them while available. Both films are a must see for Donnie Yen fans and Wing Chun fans.

Beyond greatness!
One of the best movies of the last years. Strong action and drama with a lot of feeling and wise directing. It gets you right into the movie and the character from the get-go! Ip Man! Ip Man!
