MAKAI SHIN TRILLION

PlayStation®Vita [SRPG] Release: July 23, 2015 [JPN]

Compile Heart's new PSVita title Makai Shin Trillion is a grid based SRPG, with real time elements mixed in, that has players train and level up seven different female Demon Lords (each representing a different Deadly Sin) in order to defend against the advancing antagonist, Trillion!

The entire game focuses on your fight against Trillion, who an appropriately massive health pool of 1,000,000,000,000. Gameplay is split into two sections, the first being the "Slumber" stage which allows players to proactively level and advance their Demon Lords in preparation for the "Advancing" stage where players will be expected to take on Trillion!

Trillion's goal, and yours to defend, is to cross the player's defensive line. This will inevitably happen but each skirmish is another opportunity to wear down the HP bar as much as possible.

Trillion might sound like enough of an opponent on his own but he will also be summoning minions to cause players trouble during the fight. The reported types are the following:

  • Rushdown: High attack power and will actively cause havoc
  • Long Distance: Keeps a safe distance from players while attacking from afar
  • Support: A defensive unit that tries to support and heal the other minions
  • Iron Wall: The defenders, can be found hovering around Trillion protecting him

Your defense is not without answers though, as your Demon Lords are accompanied in battle by Booster Demons. Players are unable to directly control the Booster Demons but their 'CAP' can be upgraded too, allowing more of them to join as time goes on. Players also have multiple facilities available where they can train Demon Lords, upgrade their weapons, and buy and sell items to improve their party.

Death in Makai Shin Trillion can be difficult to deal with, but the 'Dying Skills' allows players to use an incredibly powerful ability when their Demon Lords are on the edge of death. However, this will finalize her death. Such abilities include permanently sealing off one of Trillion's body parts and abilities or dealing massive amounts of damage at once.

FUSHIGI NO CHRONICLE/MYSTERY CHRONICLE: I WON'T LOOK BACK UNTIL I WIN!

PlayStation®4 PlayStation®Vita [Roguelike - 'Forced Scrolling RPG'] Release: July 30, 2015 [JPN]

So for those of you who felt like the roguelike genre wasn't unforgiving enough meet Mystery Chronicle where with every turn that passes the screen forcibly scrolls sideways, as the world gets slowly swallowed up by a mysterious light known as the 'Shine Raid.' If the hero touches the light, the game is over.

The concept itself is not new as you need not look any further than PC game One Way Heroics which is considered the inspiration, as well as the base, of the game by producers Yuichiro Saito and Yoshinori Terasawa.

Outside of the forced-scrolling mechanic Mystery Chronicle will play much like like Shiren the Wanderer and other and Mystery Dungeon titles. So while being chased by impending doom your hero must battle enemies blocking his path, pick up items dropped on the map, and invade dungeons that suddenly appear!

There will be more than 20 playable classes in Mystery Chronicle, which are unlocked by using points earned while playing. Each class has a different set of starting equipment and ability scores, as well as unique skills they can learn.

One really cool feature of the game is the ability to assign game worlds a name, as well as visit past worlds. Before setting out each time a world will be created with the terrain, items, and enemies being generated based on the name you gave it. Players across games are free to either visit the same worlds time and again by entering the same names, or they can choose to set out on a new adventure by providing a different name for their world.

In order to make your randomly generated world even more unique you'll come across various random events in the game. These events could be anything from meeting new allies and leveling up, to getting ambushed by thieves and temporarily increase item drop rates.
