Great if you loved Kira Kira and DearDrops
Kira Kira, and to a lesser extent, DearDrops, were two of the very few visual novels that I have especially fond memories of reading, so I jumped at the chance to see the characters playing music in actual animated scenes.

What you get is one song from some angel girls in a band called "CaS," which is apparently from a brand-new VN whose English title appears to be "Love Song of the Angels." This VN was just released in Japan by Overdrive in February 2013 and no English version is available yet. This is followed by two songs from DearDrops and two more from d2b, and at the end, all three bands come on stage together for an encore song.

All six songs were great, and it was indeed a pleasure watching animated Riho and Kirari singing.

However, I docked one star for being awfully expensive for what you get. $60 is very steep for only 26 minutes of video, at least to Americans.

Another star was docked because the animation, at some points, is noticeably lazy, with singer's mouths covered up by microphones and a more repetition of various movements than I was happy with. Not that it's all bad, though. The d2b songs and the finale especially appear better done, with more enthusiasm from the characters and a well-animated guitar solo from Kashiwara.

I only rated it three stars, but I liked Kira Kira and DearDrops enough to consider this worth owning. If you're okay with the high price and so-so animation, you do get great music and it's a real treat for fans.
