Very Cool Soundtrack
I recently purchased the Japanese Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box soundtrack CD. Overall, I really liked the product, but there were a couple things that I felt it lacked.

First of all, the packaging and artwork that accompanies it is beautiful. The booklet has character and concept art. That type of thing is great for nerds like me who like to see what into creating the game. The CD itself has the familiar emblem of Layton's tophat on it.

I loved the music in this game. The tracks are all represented as they are heard in-game and in roughly the same order as you come across them throughout the story. There were also several orchestral arrangements of certain themes, all of which serve to make the music seem fresh even once you've tired of the in-game sounds. One of my favorites was Don Paolo's theme (an awesome theme for an awesome villain). The music is typical Layton, with lots of accordion and violin. Yet at the same time, it never feels stale.

However, I was disappointed that the Japanese theme song for the game wasn't included on the CD. There is a pretty music box version of it, but I really wanted to hear the Salyu vocals. There's also a very pretty instrumental version of the same song in the game, but that too was also nowhere to be found on this CD.

Other than those couple of minor gripes, this CD is very cool.
