Nice connector!
This thing, lets you connect your wii with a hdmi cable. It lets you connect to 780p and 1080p, but it doesnt have a button to change this modes, you have to disconnect and reconnect, I counld't change to 1080p, it was difficult to understand the manual how to change the mode, also in 780p I think the quality of the picture looks more bad than regular component cable. But I think is ok connector.

Yep!
The best way to conect the Wii or just use the original Component cable from Nintendo. But if you want lesser cables just this is the best option.

Wii a HDMI Converter
is fine for pictures but for wii, wii u is not needed.
