Excellent Nostalgia
First of all, I have always been a fan of Nakamori's cover albums - from her first UTA HIME onwards to her FOLK SONGS series, she's been consistently churning out original and exciting covers.

This collection is no exception. The selection of tracks is inspired - the inclusion of such Showa classics as "Keiken" & " Koi no Kisetsu" reintroduces a new generation to these important landmarks in Japanese pop history. The arrangements by Murata Yoichi are excellent, especially in "Koi no Kisetsu" where he added a new 2-tone SKA element to the track refreshing it but still keeping it in a bouyant nostalgic state.

Some tracks are more successful than others - Nakamori's breathy vocals don't always work, and it fails in tracks like "Isezakimachi Blues" don't really work especially when one remembers the sublime vocals of Aoe Mina. For this minor flaw and this minor flaw alone, this collections doesn't get the 5 star but it is definitely worth having in your collection.
