A Nendo? No! it Banpresto Deformania EVA Collection
As a fans of EVA series, this figure is really worth every cents of it. Initially im pretty skeptical on the quality of Banpresto but with the price of 1/4 of the price of nendoroid. Why hesitate?

The quality of the figure is much better than expected. Although without articulation it was made very close resemblance to GSC nendoroid. Huge head, huge eye, petite body and MOE~ expression!

After this purchase of Deformania Set No.6, i am devoted to hunt down the previous set.

A simplistic but fun figurine
Petit Eva is one of the many spinoffs of the Evangelion franchise. It sees cute, super deformed versions of the characters attending school in a world that is much more bright and cheery (yet often much weirder) than that of the primary Evangelion story line. Petit Eva exists in the form of a series of CG animated shorts, 4-koma manga and what has become quite an extensive range of collectible figures. The particular series that this figure is part of is known as the 'Deformation Maniacs Collection' ('Deformania' for short).

What we have here is one of the two figures that make up the sixth set of Deformania figures - Rei in a plugsuit-styled swimsuit (the other half of this set being Asuka, also in swimsuit). Due to her alert, cheery expression I can only assume that this is the 'second sister' Rei once again. As is the norm for this series, the only articulation she has is a turnable head, and she is very nicely painted - looking just as good in reality as in the photos here. I'm still waiting for the day that we get a Rei or Kaworu with proper red eyes instead of the more brownish color, but that takes little away from the figure. Her pose is simple but very cute - almost like she's ready to jump into the pool. As the sixth Deformania Rei her expression isn't anything that special, but she is the first to have a closed-mouthed smile.

What's fun about the Deformania figures is that they can all swap heads/bodies with each other (though the fit is sometimes looser or tighter when swapping between older and newer sets). What's less fun is that none of them will stand without the aid of a display base. However, from set 5 of the series onwards, the boring, hard to use block stands have been replaced by cool, colorful transparent display stands that easily 'hug' the figure rather than clamp difficultly onto its ankles. The stands for this set are a nice turquoise color, suitable for the poolside theme.

This figure continues to grow on me - her adorable, cheery appearance and colorful base are fast making her one of my favourites in the series. I like her more than the Asuka figure in this set, but of course they look good as a pair, so pick up both!
