Same old Tekken If you love the other Tekkens you'll love this. Same cheesy plots with great gameplay. Also making its way back is the dreadfully boring Tekken Force with horrible control. Although slightly less horrible this time as you can move freely with the control stick. However it is also more horrible that they force you to play it to unlock the characters' storyline mode. The fighting game control system does not translate into adventure gameplay very well, or at all. However the rest of the game (where it doesn't pretend to be an adventure game) is fantastic. The classic Tekken feel with awesome graphics. I also love the fact all the characters speak the languages they're meant to (although it makes conversations funny to watch when everyone speak a different language but seem to understand one another just fine). Overall, it's a great game as expected of Tekken.
The Tekken we know and love. Namco finally brings this game to the consoles after a few years at the arcades. Fans will be happy to know it's the same tekken they've come to know over the years. Tekken 6 sports a huge 42 roster of playable characters unlocked right from the start so you and your friends can pick it up and play with your favourite characters. For those unfamiliar with the title they should find its easy to jump right into as there's your typical modes found in the game such as arcade, survival, vs., practice just to name a few. The 'Scenario mode' will give players an extra mode to play through and it details the story of the 2 new characters in the game Lars and Alisa.
The presentation is great and menus are easy to navigate through.
The difficulty is closer to the medium to hard band as the learning curve may be steep for some. This game is not for button bashing and learning the moves of characters is a must if you want to survive online or on harder difficulties in the game.
Overall a good game to pick up.
The Best 3D fighting game... offline with friends. As we all know the arcade machines for Tekken 6: BR sport the PS3 engine and it should be no surprise the awesome graphics is brought home to the console, and more. A nice option is having the motion blur off as we all know it was turned on for BR in the arcades. Offline mode against your friends with arcadesticks is just like playing the arcade, but without the ability to load your customizations to your character. I have yet to figure out if one can bring his profile to another's PS3 and play with his custom, but hopefully Namco fixes that.
With regards to online, the world is a huge playground and distance between players (geographically) is a factor as well to online gameplay.
Namco has come up with an online patch that filters whether you want rank over internet connection and vice versa.
Overall, this game is the number 1 3D fighting game of the year, with its awesome graphics, skill-oriented juggles, and fast reaction time dodges; if not, maybe even the whole genre of fighting games.
No title Tekken is a great game, but this chater is a little disappointing. Story mode has only four matches. Campaign mode is horrible.
Tekken 6 is not better than Tekken 5, but is a Tekken
