The critically acclaimed Prince of Persia franchise returns for the first time on next-generation platforms with an all-new epic journey.
Escape to experience the new fantasy world of ancient Persia. Masterful storytelling and sprawling environments deliver a brand new adventure that re-opens the Prince of Persia saga. Now you have the freedom to determine how the game evolves in this non-linear adventure. Players will decide how they unfold the storyline by choosing their path in the open-ended world.
In this strange land, your rogue warrior must utilize all of his skills, along with a whole new combat system, to battle Ahrimans corrupted lieutenants to heal the land from the dark Corruption and restore the light. Also, history's greatest ally is revealed in the form of Elika, a dynamic AI companion who joins the Prince in his fight to save the world. Gifted with magical powers, she interacts with the player in combat, acrobatics and puzzle-solving, enabling the Prince to reach new heights of deadly high-flying artistry through special duo acrobatic moves or devastating fighting combo attacks.
Good but... The game is very beautifull and poetic, the story is cool but standard and the gameplay is not bat but (and it is really important!), the game is too freaking easy! You will spend the most of your time going in the good direction and jumping at the good moment, without thinking
Excellent game. I was surprised by this wonderful game. The concept art based on comics was very pleasant. And the game is style "open world", providing hours of operation. But the best of the game that is Elika and the dialogues with her. One of the best games I've played so far. The bad reviews received by him are very unfair.
A very good platformer - and it's really funny Prince of Persia is a beautiful game in any respect. The graphics are awesome, as is the art design. The gameplay is slick, fast and rewarding. But my personal favourite are the dialogues between the Prince and Elika. Downright hilarious and awesome voicework.
Still, not a complete 5-star game. That is, because the gameplay is absolutely repetetive. After finishing the first few 'levels', there won't be much new stuff coming. Still, this is okay, as it is a very good formula. And there is plenty of content to play through. You might get 10hrs of solid, fun gamplay out of this platformer.
Enjoyable I haven't played the POP's from the last gen (shame on me I know - it shall be sorted soon!) so I'm reviewing this less severe than others (perhaps I'll change my mind after Sands of Time).
The game is fun to play, the titular prince handles very well and I must admit that I enjoyed the somewhat open nature of the game - particularly when considering some of the achievements.
The graphics are delightful and the music enchanting, the only negative aspect is the voice acting (more later) though if you hate cell-shaded graphics you will take a dislike to the new Prince.
The major flaw to the game is the plot - for me a plot in this type of game is secondary (I'm not expecting Mass Effect), but I never really cared. Plus, the ending was a major 'facepalm' of stupidity. The actors are severely lacking in charisma and are irritating gits, who sound like they belong in some banal US sitcom rather than a classic Middle Eastern tale.
All in all, a fun game well-worth it 'current' low price.
I would like to address the accusations about how easy the game is, 'you never die'. Though true that the prince doesn't die, you can screw up. When you should be killed in a fight or should fall to your death, Eleka saves you. A helping hand from Eleka is like a quick reload or returing to a checkpoint. Anyone who's complaining about how easy the game is, was probably saved by Eleka dozens of times and therefore did 'die'. They screwed up, I screwed up and you will screw up - miss a jump and hurtle toward a bottomless pit, or get stabbed by a bad guy/gal reducing health to zero. These situations will reset you to the last stable platform of give the enemy you are fighting a health boost. I found the system very good for maintaining the flow of the game because I never had to wait for a silly loading screen. Flow is vital in a game like this.
