CRAZY FUN
Saint's Row 2 has a ton of stuff to do. There are the main missions which are based on gaining back the hoods that rival gangs have taken over. These missions vary in that some are driving, some are gunning and some are both. Besides the main missions there are plenty of side missions that are under the categories of Activities ...

description
Five years have passed since your former Saints crew betrayed you. As you awake from a coma for the first time since that fateful day, you find the Stilwater you once ruled is in disarray. Unfamiliar gangs have laid claim to your territory, rival factions have taken over your rackets, and cash-hungry corporations have laid waste to your once proud 3rd Street home. Abandoned and left scarred with an unrecognizable face, you seek out a plastic surgeon to begin your new life on the streets of Stilwater.
Respect can only be earned in Stilwater, and that requires a lifestyle that reflects your unique personality. Your crib, your crew, and your character define who you are on the streets and how you are perceived. The image you portray is as important as the decisions you make in a city ruled by false bravado and impulsive behavior. The only constant is the need for an identity that reflects your individuality and is backed up by your 12 gauge.
Style and image can only take you so far in a world where actions speak louder than words. Sometimes sending a message to your enemies requires heavy lifting, like that of a rival gang member into oncoming traffic. Respect in Stilwater needs to be taken, and what better way than to grab it from the hands of a gang full of enemies by means of a satchel charge.
The fight to reclaim Stilwater does not have to be waged alone. The Saints once ruled these streets as a crew of brothers, and their return to the top can help be secured through co-operative alliances. The time has finally come to seek revenge against your rivals to reestablish your crew as the rightful kings of Stilwater.

The most fun urban chaos games out there !!!!
Saints Row 2 may not offer a sizable leap in the sandbox genre, but that doesn't diminish its fun. From beginning to end, this is one of the most fun urban chaos games out there. The controls are so tight and the combat so satisfying, you'll frequently find yourself getting distracted from the campaign as you cause terror all over the city. With great cooperative integration, tons of unique activities, and a super cool zombie mode, Saints Row 2 will keep you happily creating havoc for a long time.

Good game but has some issues
That game is pretty good, yes they have borrowed from the GTA franchise but they seem to have done a ok job, the only problem is the framerate which can become annoying slow at important moments.

Just a sandbox of fun
A sandbox of fun, literally. This game is just pure fun and nothings really taken serious which is a nice change in pace.

An Awesome Mad Game
Highly recommended if you have a ps3, especially for that price. Played both GTAIV and SR2 and had more fun in SR2.

Saints row 2
After receiving my copy of Saints Row 2 a few weeks ago it's been difficult to play any of the other games that I've recently bought from Ply Asia.
A real variety of missions, races and general fun to be had. The online games are great fun too. If you like GTA4, then this is a must for your collection! There's a great soundtrack and very funny dialogues too
As ever, thanks to Play Asia for getting a quality game to me in Japan and with free delivery. Class work.

great for what it is
Saints Row 2 is a great improvement over Saints Row 1. It is crass, immature, and insanely fun. What the game lacks in polish, it makes up with variety. There are so many over the top things to do in Stillwater that the game never gets old.
If it is to be compared to the GTA series, it is most similar to GTA3 San Andreas (which is a huge compliment).
Something to note is that the PS3 version DOES NOT have trophy support. I'd lean towards the 360 version if you have the option

Incredible fun
I'm glad i bought this game. Great price, great game. Even though it's quite evidently a GTA 'knock-off' so to speak, this title is actually well aware of what it is, and what it sets out to do, which essentially makes and separates itself from GTA, making the two completely incomparable, different games (in my opinion).
Definitely get this and have a buddy in hand willing to CO-OP the story with you. Utterly random, though ultimately fun, this is one hilarious trip of a game.

Best Game besides GTA4
GTA 4 was very good. But you can't play GTA4 all the time. And so SR2 filled in the gap very well while I waited for the episodic content. SR2 is more fun and laid back. GTA 4 was more dark and serious while SR2 focused on the hilarious stuff. I like the cars better in SR2 though.

A pleasant suprise
Originally I looked at this game as a cheap knock-off of the GTA series, and certainly the first Saints Row felt buggy and try-hard most of the time.
Which is what made it all the more impressive when I finally sat down with this copy of Saints Row 2. I enjoyed this game so much more over any other sandbox game of the same genre. While other games do tend to have a bit more spit and polish, this game had great gameplay and inventive missions to prop it up.
It's inevitable to compare it to other games in the GTA series, specifically GTA4. As much as I enjoyed that game, I felt like I was constantly having to baby-sit my friends. Everytime they whine about being sad or ignored it was an absolute chore for me to have to meet and play one of the ridiculous mini-games or drive home drunk. It got plain annoying by the end of the game.
I'd much rather play a game where I spend my side missions driving around pouring sewage on houses, or riding on a quad bike while on fire.
I rate this over GTA anyday of the week.

An Entire City of FUN!
I avoided Saint's Row 2 for a while for a few reasons: GTA IV had just come out and I really enjoyed it and just wasn't that interested in another 'Sandbox' game and the other reason was due to the often crass and obnoxious marketing campaign.
I ended up picking this game up and felt bad for not enjoying it sooner. There is quite literally too much to do in this game! Sure, the graphics aren't as flash as GTA IV and the story is fairly 2 Dimensional but the Saints Row 2 makes up for all of that in the sheer amount of content.
If you've ever wanted to play a game that features pointless battle between Pirates and Ninja - this is the game you've been waiting for!

CRAZY FUN
Saint's Row 2 has a ton of stuff to do. There are the main missions which are based on gaining back the hoods that rival gangs have taken over. These missions vary in that some are driving, some are gunning and some are both. Besides the main missions there are plenty of side missions that are under the categories of Activities and Diversions. The Activities range from Insurance Fraud, Gathering up Hookers, Destroying the city to Bringing down property values by spraying crap from a sewage truck everywhere. There are also the standard "hit man" and "chop shop" missions that were in the first game. Completing these missions unlocks bonuses like cars, weapons and new abilities. They also earn you money which you can use to buy tons of clothing, weapons, ammo, and upgrades. Plus you earn respect which is needed to unlock the main missions. Diversions are fun mini games that are optional. Some diversions include base jumping, putting out fires, towing cars, and working as an EMT. These are just a few of many things to do in Stillwater. Like the first Saint's Row there are all kinds of things you can buy.
There are many vehicles which can be upgraded and customized buy driving into one of many garages. Once in your garage they are yours whenever you want them. You also have a huge selection of clothes, accessories and character customization. Where do you keep all this stuff? In you crib, where else? Spread throughout the city are places you can buy and upgrade. Here you can pick up the money you collect from the hoods you have won back and from the businesses you have bought into. You also have access to you clothes and weapons. This time around you have the option to play co-op with your friends. If that's not your thing you can try the multiplayer. Even though they removed a couple of the multiplay game modes you will still have a ton of fun.
Everyone compares SR2 with GTA4 and at its core they are similar. The difference comes in that GTA4 went for realism and SR2 went for just plain fun. In SR2 you have the option to spend all that money you have collected. Whether it is cars, clothes, homes, or weapons it gives you more of a feeling of satisfaction. If you liked GTA4 I can't see how you wouldn't love SR2.
