Retro 2D platforming adventure with a modern feel
Definitely worth a try if you want to try something different, the graphics and soundtrack really work well together and the gameplay itself is highly enjoyable, you could say its a mix of the old hack & slash platformer Strider with some RPG style elements added to give the game real depth and replay value!

Old School Made New
Muramasa is great proof that the type of old school games that we grew up on will never die. Vanilla Ware did an amazing job bringing this hack and slash adventure into our modern age with stunningly beautiful hand drawn 2d graphics and a simple, yet fun and challenging gameplay mechanics. Some of you may find it repetitive, but for the rest of us, and this is especially true for retro gamers, this Wii game is a must have.

Art and gameplay come together
Muramasa: The Demon Blade is essentially a 2D sidescrolling hack and slash game, but what makes it stand out is that the entire presentation is wrapped in possibly the most beautiful hand-drawn artwork ever seen on a Wii. Each level is an incredible work of art and is often breathtaking in its presentation.

The gameplay itself does not deviate from the usual hack and slash -- you traverse levels, killing almost everything in sight, while upgrading your weapons to deal more damage and to unlock new levels in the game.
