Excelent product

it works perfect with my PSP, and Wii, and also with notebooks, the only problem is that intallation in windows is not intuitive (you must stop the windows wifi service), i reccomend to search for a good tutorial over the internet.

After a good configuration the product works perfect!! :D

description
Take your consoles online – wirelessly…

So you have a Nintendo Wii or an NDS (original or Lite). If you’re lucky, you have both! You also have a broadband internet connection for your PC. But you don’t have a wireless network. What’s the easiest, cheapest way to take your consoles online and compete with gamers from all over the world? Simple – WiFi MAX for Nintendo Wii and DS/DS Lite!

WiFi MAX is your ticket to the exciting world of online gaming, and it couldn't be simpler to use. Just plug your USB WiFi dongle into your internet-enabled PC to create a Wireless Access Point. You can then connect to the internet and play online-enabled multiplayer games with DS and Wii gamers from all over the world. Just the thing if you don't have a wireless router! Best of all, WiFi MAX supports up to five ‘local' DS gamers at a time, so you and your mates can all play online at once with no loss of speed!

Don’t forget, there’s more to the Nintendo Wii’s online service than playing games. You can also download additional material such as new levels, skins, artwork and even retro games! That’s right – Nintendo is gradually making its back-catalogue classics for old Nintendo machines such as the NES, SNES and N64 available to Wii owners through the Virtual Arcade service. And with WiFi MAX, you can download them through your broadband internet connection! Just think what you’ll be missing out on if you don’t take your Wii online…

As WiFi MAX operates on the Wireless G standard, it's five times faster than an ordinary WiFi connection, and if you use our USB cable and dongle stand (supplied), you can position your dongle to maximise WiFi range. If you have other WiFi-enabled devices capable of using the internet, such as laptops or PDAs, you can take them online with WiFi MAX too. It's the ultimate device for internet surfing without a WiFi router!

You'll regret it.
Everyone seems to be buying this but I'm telling you....if you buy this you'll regret it. When you do, don't come crying because many people have warned you how bad this is. WiFi Max = rubbish. Datel won't help you. It was hard enough getting it to work on XP and guess what people it's practically impossible to get it to work on Vista even though Datel have a page that tells you how to set it up for Vista which, not surprisingly, doesn't work.

Worst Wireless Modem... if you managed to get it to work!
I bought this product about half a year ago and it's still not working now. Datel e-mail support isn't helping (and takes a long time to response), no instructions, not accurate setup wizard... It's really hard to make it work. Well, it's working (after a few manual setups), my PSP, DS and Wii all detects it but none of them can connect to the internet. And it's not worth the price. Just buy a wireless router instead, for the same or even lower price. Don't buy this thing!

Works fine IF you ever manage to install it!
I'll just start off saying that it took me around 5 hours to finally get my PSP online with this thing. 5 hours of looking on the net and finding answers. Why you ask? Because the instruction manual given is absolute useless which only tells you half of what you need to know. It misses all the critical tweaks you have to manually do in the settings and only tells you the main steps.

I bought this after getting a PSP Slim (already having a DS Lite). I had the official Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector but since the PSP wouldn't work on that, I decided to buy this WiFi MAX because it worked with both and I sold the official Nintendo one on eBay. Let me just say that if you only have a DS or Wii, AVOID this at all costs! The official one does everything for you and you'll be online in around 5 minutes. This one however takes forever only because you basically have to find out yourself how to install it.

It works fine once it's all connected and I do like the included stand which is pretty nifty. The picture shows a black dongle and stand but the one I got was white. I haven't tried connecting my DS yet but I'd imagine it'd be the same procedure.

Overall though, if you decide to get this, be prepared to spend a long time getting it to work. Only get this if you've got a PSP. If you've only got a DS or Wii, don't even think about getting this....just get the official one...TRUST ME!

It's ok
But extremely difficult to set up as there are no instructions and the auto wizard isn't accurate. The official one is still easier and less of a hassle.

WiFi Max - Too good for a score

Its average price Ł24.99 beats that of having to buy a Wireless G wifi card for the computer, and set up the wifi network for both PSP and NDS, setup all your software, WEP keys and installation of drivers and software. Might be a steep price for the younger gamer, but I feel paying this for the peace of mind that this will be compatible with both consoles as well as periodic updates, makes the product worth its price tag. Consider this to be a wireless like organizer for your PSP or DS...it is a simple device yet opens up an umbrella of useful features, not only when it comes to file management but also when it comes to online gaming.

I believe this isn't the kind of product of which I can give a score to it as it's the first of its kind, thus setting the benchmark (a darn high one at that). This product left me feeling more than content, due to it's relatively simple nature there isn't much to flaw it on if anything. It does exactly what it says on the box, supports both handhelds and it is an absolute breeze to navigate through the respective software.

Quality: Finely built hardware, the adapter was very sturdy and built with quality in mind. Top notch software with rich features.

Practicality: All in one solution for Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. Can connect to Computers and PDAs as well.

Price: Slightly high for some younger consumers, but given its features, ultimately worth its price.

Compatibility: Windows Only. No known issues with drivers or software.

Usefulness: Multi-Purpose Wifi-G connection for high speed media transfer, downloadable content and useful for for online gaming for both consoles.

Good product!
Took a few minutes to set up, but once I had everything figured out my Wii and DS Lite were up and online without a hitch!

Great alternative to Nintendo's pricy dongle.
