The XCM V-Box is a USB based VGA BOX for Wii. This product has three main functions, it can be connected to a laptop or desktop computer as it is compatible with USB 2.0. With this product you can also record your gameplay to hard drive and watch it back after you have finished your game as it has a built-in playback function. Lastly, there is an optional add-on recorder, that can record as DVD/VCD/CD via V-Box from DVD player to PC hard drive!
Not that good, just average. Get a proper VGA box. If you want to record video or take screenshots of your gameplay on the Wii, it does the job quite well. However, that's about it.
Picture quality is average on XP. Scanlines are noticable. On Vista (32 and 64 bit), it looks a lot worse, probably due to the different software used. The software for Vista (ver 2.0) is also too bloated and usability goes down the drain.
On both platforms, I find that my Guitar Hero 3 stutters quite a bit, rendering it unplayable on higher levels. Since that game is based on timing, smooth visuals are a must. I don't have any other rhythm-based games to try it out on.
For the price, I would have rather spent my money on a proper VGA box with VGA or DVI output.
Not good The PAL version doesn't accept PAL Wii machines in anything other than 50Hz mode. It can be used, but the colours are wrong.
The quality isn't great but it's still playable.
If you need a cheap way of getting the Wii on your computer, buy this. If you want picture quality @ 60Hz, look elsewhere.
Piece of **** Doesn't play anything higher then 50hrz while in PAL, no guide for what settings do what. Very poor visuals, image blurs in motion, still capture is worthless as it blurs, and video is completely messed up. if i could, i woun't even give it one star.
Fantastic Brilliant item! I'm now able to record videos directly from the Wii on to my computer. And I now use this to play my games seeing as my TVs AV channels dont work anymore. A great buy for people who want to do videos or just play their Wii on the computer.
